Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Infrastrcuture Engineer with strong expertise in OpenStack networking, OVN, VyOS, and advanced network virtualization. The ideal candidate will work on improving network performance, scalability, reliability, and security across cloud networking environments.

The role involves OVN optimization, zero-downtime data-plane upgrades, advanced routing, network services, and kernel-level distributed firewall implementation.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead OVN networking enhancements focused on performance optimization and zero-data-plane-downtime upgrades.
- Improve network scalability, error reporting, and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Work on OpenStack Neutron networking, including Quality of Service (QoS).
- Implement and support VyOS BGP routing and advanced networking capabilities.
- Provide advanced networking support using VyOS, including:
- Firewall-as-a-Service (FWaaS)
- VPN-as-a-Service (VPNaaS)
- Network Address Translation (NAT)
- Layer 4–Layer 7 Load Balancing
- Support NSX-T-style advanced networking functionality.
- Work on kernel-level distributed firewall architecture and implementation.
- Troubleshoot complex data-plane, routing, connectivity, and network performance issues.

Required Technical Skills





- Cloud & Virtualization Platforms: OpenStack (Neutron, Nova, Metadata Service), OpenStack Ansible, KVM/QEMU, DevStack
- Software-Defined Networking (SDN): Open vSwitch (OVS), Open Virtual Network (OVN), OpenFlow, SDN Controllers
- Overlay & Encapsulation: VxLAN, GENEVE, VLAN (802.1Q)
- L2/L3 Protocols & Data Center: BGP, EVPN, OSPF, ECMP, VRRP, IPv4/IPv6, ARP/NDP, Ethernet (802.3), STP/RSTP, L3 CLOS, LACP, MCT/vLAG
- Cloud-Native & Telemetry: Kubernetes, Docker, Kubernetes Controllers, Operator SDK, CRDs, gRPC, Protocol Buffers, Kafka, Numaflow
- Security & Packet Inspection: IPsec (IKEv2, ESP), IPTables/Netfilter, NFTables, Conntrack
- DevOps, Automation & Languages: Golang (Go), Python, C, Vagrant, Ansible, Linux CLI, Bash, CI/CD (Jenkins, Git), OpenAPI / REST APIs
- Strong experience with OpenStack networking and Neutron.
- Hands-on experience with OVN (Open Virtual Network).
- Experience with VyOS routing and networking.
- Strong understanding of BGP routing protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with VMware NSX-T or similar network virtualization platforms.
- Experience with zero-downtime network upgrades.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across cloud networking and data-plane environments.
- Experience designing and supporting large-scale distributed networking infrastructure.
