Job Description: Retail Store Manager

Reports to: Regional / Area Manager
Operations Experience: 2–3 years as a Store Manager in retail
Pay scale: Rs. 25,000 – Rs. 35,000 per month

Role Summary:
The Store Manager is responsible for the end-to-end performance of the store: sales, customer experience, team management, inventory control and operational compliance. The role requires a hands-on leader who can drive revenue, build a high-performing team and uphold brand standards.

Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Performance

- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales, conversion and profitability targets.
- Analyse daily and weekly sales data; plan and execute actions to close gaps.
- Drive upselling, cross-selling and local promotional activities to increase footfall and average bill value.

Team Leadership

- Recruit, train, coach and manage the store team, including sales executives and support staff.
- Set clear targets, review performance regularly and run structured feedback and improvement plans.
- Manage rosters, attendance and productivity; keep attrition low and morale high. Customer Experience
- Ensure a consistent, high-quality customer experience in line with brand standards.
- Handle escalations and complaints promptly and drive repeat business.
- Ensure the team has strong product knowledge and consultative selling skills.

Store Operations & Compliance

- Manage inventory: stock receiving, replenishment, cycle counts and shrinkage control.




- Maintain visual merchandising, store hygiene and brand presentation.
- Ensure cash handling, billing accuracy, statutory and company policy compliance.
- Coordinate with warehouse, supply chain, marketing and HR teams.

Reporting

- Submit timely MIS on sales, stock, manpower and customer feedback to the reporting manager.

Requirements

- Graduate in any discipline (MBA / retail management diploma is an advantage).
- 2–3 years of experience as a Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager in organised retail. • Proven record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and managing a team.
- Working knowledge of POS, inventory systems and MS Excel.
- Strong communication, problem-solving and people-management skills.
- Fluency in the local language (Tamil and English)

Preferred Profile

- Experience in the medical devices / healthcare retail space (for example orthopaedic, mobility, diagnostic or wellness products).
- Comfort with consultative, product-led selling and explaining product advantages to customers.
- Understanding of regulatory and quality requirements for medical products, such as batch tracking, expiry management and returns.
- Experience handling B2C walk-in customers along with clinic, hospital or doctor-referral relationships.
