Responsibilities:

- Design of mechanical sub-assemblies for drilling equipment; including welded and bolted structures, machined components, and sheet metal assemblies.

- Work closely with the responsible design engineer to carry out detailed design based on pre-defined concepts, ensuring manufacturability and compliance with engineering standards.

- Develop 3D CAD model and manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks based on defined concepts and engineering inputs.

- Support new product development (NPD) activities based on existing/ template designs.

- Prepare shop-floor ready drawings with proper dimensioning, tolerancing & welding specifications.

- Execute revision work and implement design changes accurately in existing models and drawings.

- Provide engineering support during execution and assist in resolving design-related issues.

- Take ownership of assigned components/sub-assemblies over time, with increasing responsibility.

Technical Skills

Mandatory:

- Robust fundamentals in Machine & Structural Design, Strength of Materials & Applied Mechanics.

- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks/ similar softwares (3D modelling, manufacturing drawings).





- Experience working with welded structures and load-bearing assemblies.

- Basic understanding of GD&T;, limits and fit systems and Tolerance Stack-ups.

Desirable:

- Do basic engineering calculations.

- Exposure to preliminary FEA and structural analysis.

- Familiarity with material selection and manufacturing processes.

- Familiarity with drilling equipments and related machines would be ideal.

Experience:

- 25 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in heavy engineering or structural assemblies.

- Ability to understand engineering inputs and convert them into practical design outputs.

- Proven experience to independently handle detail design work.

- Ability to work in a structured environment with guidance and gradually take ownership of assigned tasks.

Soft Skills:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

- High attention to detail and execution discipline.

- Good problem-solving ability and engineering judgment.

- Willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibility.

- Team working spirit is essential
