VACANCY: ELECTRICIAN – MINING OPERATIONS

1. Job Purpose

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Electrician with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in HT/LT overhead electrical line works, substation installation, electrical maintenance and power distribution systems.

The candidate will be responsible for execution, installation, maintenance, inspection and troubleshooting of electrical infrastructure at the mining site, ensuring reliable power supply and strict compliance with electrical safety standards.

2. Key Roles & Responsibilities

A. HT/LT Overhead Line Works

- Experience in installation, maintenance and repair of HT/LT overhead electrical lines.
- Knowledge of erection of electrical poles, structures, cross-arms and insulators.
- Experience in conductor stringing, sagging, jointing and termination.
- Knowledge of installation and maintenance of electrical stays, clamps, connectors and hardware.
- Ability to identify and rectify faults in overhead distribution lines.
- Experience in installation and maintenance of line isolators, AB switches, drop-out fuses and lightning arresters.
- Ensure proper earthing and electrical clearances in overhead lines.

B. Substation Installation & Maintenance

- Hands-on experience in installation and maintenance of electrical substations.
- Knowledge of power transformers, CTs, PTs, VCBs, ACBs, isolators and distribution panels.
- Experience in HT/LT panel installation, cable laying, glanding and termination.
- Knowledge of transformer connections, earthing and electrical protection systems.
- Assist in testing and commissioning of transformers,



switchgear and associated equipment.
- Carry out routine inspection and maintenance of substation equipment.
- Identify and troubleshoot electrical faults in substations.

C. Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting

- Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of electrical installations.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults in motors, pumps, panels, cables and distribution systems.
- Perform electrical installation, wiring, termination and repair work.
- Ensure proper functioning of electrical equipment and power distribution systems.
- Minimize equipment downtime through timely maintenance and fault rectification.

D. Safety & Work Discipline

- Strictly follow electrical safety procedures and mine safety regulations.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Permit-to-Work procedures.
- Use appropriate PPE and approved electrical tools.
- Ensure proper isolation and testing before commencing electrical work.
- Follow authorized procedures for HT line and substation work.
- Maintain protected working practices during work at height and electrical installations.

E. Tools, Materials & Documentation

- Handle electrical tools, testing instruments and equipment properly.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities and materials used.
- Report defective equipment, cable damage and electrical abnormalities.
- Ensure proper utilization and care of electrical materials and tools.
- Report daily work progress to the Electrical Supervisor.

3. Qualification & Experience





- ITI Electrician / Diploma in Electrical Engineering preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of practical experience in electrical installation and maintenance.
- Solid hands-on experience in HT/LT overhead line erection and maintenance.
- Practical experience in substation installation, maintenance and commissioning.
- Knowledge of transformers, HT/LT panels, switchgear, cables and electrical protection systems.
- Ability to independently execute assigned electrical jobs.
- Mining or heavy industrial experience will be preferred.

4. Working Conditions

- 10 hours of duty per day as per site requirements.
- Willingness to work at mining locations and in outdoor conditions.
- Must be available for electrical breakdown and emergency maintenance work as required.
- Must be physically fit for field electrical work, including working at heights where authorized.

5. Key Performance Expectations

- Quality and timely completion of HT/LT overhead line work.
- Proper installation and maintenance of substations.
- Minimum electrical breakdown and equipment downtime.
- Strict adherence to electrical safety procedures.
- Proper utilization of tools and electrical materials.
- Timely execution of assigned maintenance and installation work.

6. Essential Requirement

The candidate must have solid practical experience in HT/LT overhead line installation, conductor stringing, pole erection, electrical connections, substation installation, transformer connections, HT/LT panel installation and electrical fault troubleshooting.

The candidate should be capable of independently executing assigned electrical installation and maintenance jobs under the supervision of the Electrical Supervisor.

Pay: From ₹18,000.00 per month
