Role purpose

Manage daily shop-floor execution of precision fabrication in carbon steel, alloy steel and stainless steel (SS). Deliver assigned jobs to stringent dimensional tolerances and quality benchmarks aligned with global standards, while meeting production schedules and safety requirements.

Key responsibilities

- Convert project schedules into daily and weekly job plans. Allocate engineers, supervisors, workmen and contractors according to skills, priorities and available capacity.

- Supervise cutting, forming, fit-up, welding, finishing and assembly. Apply suitable fixtures, welding sequences and distortion controls to meet drawing tolerances.

- Verify dimensions, alignment, squareness and fit-up at critical stages using calibrated measuring equipment. Correct deviations before subsequent operations increase rework.

- Ensure use of current drawings, approved welding procedures and specified materials. Maintain material identification, weld traceability and required process records.

- Arrange materials, tools and equipment, and coordinate with Engineering, Quality, NDE and Maintenance for technical resolution, stage inspections and timely job clearance.

- Track job cards, labour hours, output and rework in ERP. Escalate shortages or delays promptly, implement recovery actions and verify contractor work quantities.

- Investigate fabrication defects and nonconformities with Quality, implement corrective actions, and update work instructions to prevent recurrence.

- Coach teams, assess practical skills and train new joiners. Enforce PPE,



safe lifting and hot-work controls, 5S and disciplined housekeeping throughout production.

Candidate profile

- 10-15 years in steel fabrication, with hands-on experience supervising precision fabrication and delivering jobs against demanding dimensional and quality requirements.

- Proficient in engineering drawings, welding symbols, fabrication tolerances, dimensional measurement and welding controls for carbon steel, alloy steel and SS.

- Strong job planning, team supervision and ERP reporting skills, with working knowledge of applicable international fabrication codes and customer specifications. Piping or pipe spool fabrication experience is preferred.

- Working knowledge of hygienic stainless steel piping fabrication for food and pharmaceutical applications, including weld quality and surface finish requirements.

- Experience overseeing skid packaging and coordinating the integration of piping, valves, instruments and electrical components.

- Thorough exposure to pickling and passivation of stainless steel to meet surface treatment and cleanliness requirements for food and pharmaceutical applications.

- Performance measures

- Schedule adherence, dimensional compliance, first-pass acceptance, rework hours, labour productivity, accurate ERP updates and safety performance.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
