We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our Accounts Department. The candidate will be responsible for day-to-day accounting activities, maintaining financial records, handling invoices, coordinating with vendors and customers, and assisting with general accounting and finance operations related to logistics and freight forwarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle day-to-day accounting entries and maintain financial records.
- Prepare and process sales invoices and purchase bills.
- Verify vendor invoices and ensure proper documentation.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Perform bank, vendor, and customer ledger reconciliations.
- Maintain records of customer payments and vendor outstanding balances.
- Follow up with customers regarding pending payments.
- Coordinate with internal departments for invoice verification and payment-related queries.
- Assist in preparing payment vouchers, receipt vouchers, and journal entries.
- Maintain proper filing of invoices, bills, and other financial documents.
- Assist in GST-related documentation and basic accounting compliance.
- Support the senior accountant in monthly closing and other accounting activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- B.Com or equivalent qualification in Accounting or Finance.
- 2-3 years of experience in accounting; freshers with good accounting knowledge may also apply.
- Basic knowledge of GST, TDS, and accounting principles.
- Knowledge of Tally ERP / Tally Prime is preferred.
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office.
- Understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Candidates with experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or transport accounting will be preferred.
- Should be organized, responsible, and willing to learn.
- Ability to manage multiple accounting tasks and meet deadlines.
