Role Summary

Xbattery is looking for an Installation & Commissioning Engineer to make sure every battery pack is installed safely, correctly and to specification at customer sites. You will also solve post-installation problems down to root cause, train partner engineers and electricians, and use CAD to help make our packs smaller and better.

Key Responsibilities

- Install and commission battery packs at customer locations.

- Analyse requirements and infrastructure at each site: space, ventilation, load profile, existing inverter, PV and grid setup, and earthing.

- Carry out load calculations, circuit design and cable sizing; specify wire harnessing and protection (MCB/MCCB, fuses, SPD).

- Train engineers and electricians on installation and commissioning procedures; create SOPs and checklists.

- Troubleshoot after installation and drive every issue to its root cause (RCA/8D), then feed findings back into product, process and training.

- Support new product development in CAD, focusing on design optimisation such as reducing battery pack size, improving thermal behaviour and simplifying assembly.

- Integrate battery packs with inverters, BMS communication, telemetry, PV and grid infrastructure.

Technical Knowledge Required

- Electrical: AC and DC fundamentals, ACDB and DCDB, MCB/MCCB/isolators, SPDs, earthing, busbars, lugs and crimping, cable sizing and voltage drop, single-line diagrams.

- Battery systems: LFP and NMC behaviour, series/parallel configurations, BMS protections, SoC/SoH, charge and discharge limits, thermal management.

- Integration: inverter compatibility (e.g. Victron, Growatt, Luminous, Sungrow), CAN, RS485 and Modbus communication, telemetry and IoT gateways, PV and MPPT sizing, grid-tie and off-grid modes.

- Tools: multimeter, clamp meter, insulation tester, earth tester, thermal camera and BMS diagnostic software.





- Mechanical and design: CAD modelling (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo or similar), DFM/DFA, tolerancing, enclosure and mounting design, heat dissipation, weight and volume optimisation.

- Safety: LOTO, PPE, working at height, handling high-voltage DC and fire safety for lithium systems.

Qualifications & Experience

- B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical Engineering. 2–5 years in installation, commissioning or field service of batteries, UPS, inverters, solar or EV systems.

- Hands-on CAD experience and the ability to produce a manufacturable drawing.

- Solid analytical skills with a documented example of finding a real root cause.

- Comfortable with field work and customer interaction; able to train others clearly.

- Willingness to travel to customer sites.

Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹800,000.00 per year
