Role & responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Injection Moulding Operator to operate and monitor injection moulding machines, ensure smooth production, maintain product quality, and handle routine machine-related activities. The candidate should have hands-on experience in machine operation, mould setting, process monitoring, troubleshooting, and basic machine maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Machine Operation

- Operate injection moulding machines safely and efficiently.
- Start, stop, and monitor machines during production.
- Set and monitor machine parameters such as temperature, pressure, injection speed, holding pressure, cooling time, and cycle time.
- Ensure machines are running according to approved production parameters.
- Monitor machine performance throughout the production process.

2. Mould Setting & Changeover

- Assist with mould installation, removal, and changeover.
- Ensure proper mould alignment and clamping.
- Connect and check water cooling lines, hydraulic/pneumatic connections, and other required utilities.
- Verify mould condition before starting production.
- Carry out trial runs after mould changes and report abnormalities.

3. Production Process

- Follow daily production plans and achieve assigned production targets.
- Load and handle approved raw materials as per production requirements.
- Monitor material feeding and drying requirements where applicable.
- Maintain proper cycle time and machine efficiency.
- Minimize machine downtime, rejection, and material wastage.

4. Quality Control

- Inspect finished components for defects such as short moulding, flash, sink marks, burn marks, warpage, colour variation, and dimensional issues.
- Follow quality standards and approved samples.
- Segregate defective products and inform the supervisor immediately.
- Maintain consistent product quality throughout production.

5. Troubleshooting





- Identify basic machine and mould-related problems during production.
- Make minor process adjustments within authorized parameters.
- Report machine breakdowns, abnormal noises, temperature issues, hydraulic problems, or mould defects to the maintenance/supervisor team.
- Support troubleshooting and corrective actions to reduce downtime.

6. Machine & Workplace Maintenance

- Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of the injection moulding machine and surrounding work area.
- Keep moulds, tools, machines, and production areas clean and organized.
- Check oil levels, cooling systems, heaters, sensors, and other basic operating conditions.
- Follow preventive maintenance schedules as instructed.

7. Safety & Compliance

- Follow all factory safety rules and PPE requirements.
- Ensure safe handling of machines, moulds, raw materials, and tools.
- Follow proper lockout/safety procedures when required.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, machine abnormalities, or accidents to the supervisor.
- Maintain good housekeeping and follow 5S practices.

8. Production Records & Reporting

- Maintain production records, rejection records, machine downtime, and material usage.
- Record shift-wise production quantities and defects.
- Report production issues and machine problems to the Production Supervisor.
- Support inventory and material tracking when required.

Preferred candidate profile

- Hands-on experience in Injection Moulding Machine Operation.
- Knowledge of injection moulding processes and machine parameters.
- Basic knowledge of mould setting and changeover.
- Ability to identify common moulding defects.
- Basic troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of raw materials such as PP, ABS, HDPE, PVC, Nylon, etc. is an advantage.
- Ability to read and follow production instructions.
- Positive attention to detail and quality awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
- Positive safety awareness.
