Job Overview

SUNONIX INDIA PVT LTD is looking for an experienced and technically skilled Heat Pump

Design & Troubleshooting Engineer with 4–5 years of hands-on experience in heat pump

systems, hot water solutions, HVAC and refrigeration technology.

The candidate will be responsible for heat pump system design, technical evaluation, installation

guidance, commissioning, performance monitoring, fault diagnosis and troubleshooting.

The ideal candidate should have strong practical knowledge of air-source heat pumps, water

circulation systems, compressors, refrigerant circuits, electrical controls and hot water

applications.

Key Responsibilities

1. Heat Pump Design & Engineering

- Design and develop heat pump-based hot water systems as per client requirements.
- Calculate heating capacity, water heating load, flow rates, temperature requirements and system efficiency
- Select suitable heat pump capacities, compressors, heat exchangers, circulation pumps and associated components.
- Prepare technical drawings, piping layouts, system schematics and equipment specifications.
- Review BOQs, technical specifications and engineering requirements.
- Design heat pump integration with existing hot water systems, solar water heating systems and other utilities.

2. Troubleshooting & Technical Support

- Diagnose and resolve heat pump operational issues and technical failures.
- Troubleshoot compressors, condenser, evaporator, expansion valve and refrigerant circuitrelated problems
- Identify refrigerant leakage, abnormal pressure, insufficient heating, high power
- consumption and temperature fluctuations.




- Handle electrical and control-related faults, including sensors, thermostats, contactors,relays and control panel.
- Analyze system performance and identify the root cause of recurring failures.
- Prepare RCA (Root Cause Analysis) reports and recommend permanent corrective actions.
- 3. Installation & Commissioning
- Supervise heat pump installation, piping connections and equipment positioning.
- Ensure proper water circulation, flow balancing and hydraulic connections.
- Perform refrigerant pressure testing, vacuuming, charging and leakage testing as applicable.
- Carry out system commissioning and performance testing.
- Verify inlet/outlet water temperatures, operating pressures, electrical parameters and heating performance
- Ensure the system operates as per the required design specifications.

4. Site Coordination & Client Support

- Conduct technical site inspections and feasibility assessments.
- Coordinate with clients, service engineers, technicians, vendors and project teams.
- Provide technical guidance to installation and service teams.
- Attend critical site breakdowns and resolve technical issues.
- Prepare technical reports, service reports, commissioning reports and material
- requirements.
- Ensure timely execution of assigned technical activities.

Required Technical Skills

- Strong knowledge of Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) systems.
- Practical experience in HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Knowledge of compressors, condensers, evaporators and expansion valves.
- Knowledge of refrigerants such as R32, R410A,



R134a and other commonly used refrigerants.
- Understanding of refrigeration cycle, thermodynamics and heat transfer.
- Knowledge of water circulation pumps, piping systems, valves and heat exchangers.
- Understanding electrical wiring, control panels, sensors and automation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&ID; and piping layouts.
- Knowledge of heat pump efficiency, COP and energy consumption calculations.
- Good troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Educational Qualification

- Diploma / B.E. / B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or a relevant engineering discipline.

Experience Requirements

- 4–5 years of relevant experience in heat pump design, HVAC, refrigeration or hot water systems.
- Hands-on experience in heat pump installation, commissioning and troubleshooting.
- Experience handling commercial and industrial hot water heat pump projects.
- Ability to independently identify technical problems and provide effective solutions.
- Candidates with practical site execution and client coordination experience will be preferred.

- Strong technical knowledge combined with practical field experience.
- Ability to independently handle design and troubleshooting activities.
- Good communication and client-handling skills.
- Willingness to travel to project sites whenever required.
