About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established steel manufacturing organisation based in Faridabad, is looking for an experienced and technically sound Head of Purchase to lead its procurement operations.

This is a key leadership position for a procurement professional with a strong understanding of the steel industry, excellent negotiation capabilities, and hands-on expertise in procurement systems and online bidding processes.

We are looking for someone who understands procurement beyond routine purchasing and can effectively manage strategic sourcing, supplier relationships, cost optimisation, and procurement systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the organisation’s overall purchase and procurement operations.
- Develop and implement effective procurement strategies aligned with business requirements.
- Manage procurement systems, ERP-based purchasing processes, and digital procurement workflows.
- Handle online bidding, e-tendering, reverse auctions, and vendor bidding processes.
- Identify, evaluate, negotiate with, and manage suppliers and vendors.
- Ensure timely procurement of materials, equipment, consumables, and other business-critical requirements.
- Drive cost optimisation, supplier performance improvement, and strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Maintain strong vendor relationships while ensuring quality,



pricing competitiveness, and timely delivery.
- Establish procurement controls, documentation, compliance, and reporting systems.
- Coordinate with production, finance, stores, and other relevant departments.

Candidate Profile – Mandatory Requirements

- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience exclusively in the steel industry or closely related steel manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in handling procurement and purchase operations at a senior level.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of procurement systems, ERP, and digital purchasing platforms.
- Expertise in online bidding, e-tendering, and vendor negotiation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage strategic procurement, supplier development, and cost control.
- Solid commercial acumen, analytical skills, negotiation abilities, and leadership capabilities.

Educational Qualification

BBA / MBA / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, with relevant industry experience.

Preferred Candidate

Candidates currently based in Faridabad, Delhi NCR, or nearby industrial locations will be preferred, particularly those familiar with the local steel and manufacturing ecosystem.

Compensation: ₹8 -10 LPA CTC
