Job Purpose To lead and oversee the overall planning, scheduling, monitoring and project control functions for large-scale Water Supply and Infrastructure Projects from Head Office.

The role involves developing project execution strategies, establishing baseline schedules, monitoring project progress, identifying critical delays, implementing corrective measures and ensuring timely project completion through effective coordination with project teams.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Lead and oversee the overall Planning & Project Controls function for multiple Water Supply and Infrastructure Projects from Head Office.
2. Develop, review and monitor detailed project schedules, baseline programmes, resource plans and execution strategies in line with contractual requirements and project milestones.
3. Demonstrate strong hands-on expertise in Primavera P6, including project scheduling, updating, resource loading, critical path analysis and progress monitoring.
4. Monitor project progress against approved baseline schedules, identify delays, analyse schedule deviations and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
5. Prepare and implement project recovery plans, revised schedules and mitigation strategies to address execution delays and achieve contractual completion targets.
6. Review project milestones, critical activities, work-front availability,



resource deployment and construction progress across various project locations.
7. Establish effective project monitoring and reporting systems, including weekly and monthly progress reports, project dashboards and Management Information Systems (MIS).
8. Analyse project performance using key project control parameters such as planned versus actual progress, schedule variance, productivity and milestone achievement.
9. Coordinate with Project Heads, Project Managers, Construction Teams, Site Planning Engineers and other stakeholders to ensure effective project planning and execution.
10. Review contractual schedules, tender programmes, project execution timelines and periodic schedule revisions.
11. Provide strategic planning inputs and timely management reports highlighting project risks, bottlenecks, delays and critical issues requiring management intervention.
12. Guide, mentor and strengthen the planning team across project locations, ensuring consistency in planning methodologies, reporting standards and project control practices.

Desired Project Experience Candidates should have extensive experience in planning and project controls for large-scale Water Supply and Infrastructure Projects, particularly:

- Bulk Water Supply Projects
- Water Treatment Plants (WTP)




- Water Transmission and Distribution Pipelines
- Pumping Stations and Pump Houses
- Elevated Level Service Reservoirs (ELSR)
- Ground Level Service Reservoirs (GLSR)
- Intake Wells and Jack Wells
- Raw Water and Clear Water Conveyance Systems
- Underground and Surface Water Infrastructure Works

Essential Skills & Competencies

- Advanced hands-on proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- Strong expertise in project scheduling, monitoring and control.
- Experience in baseline preparation, critical path analysis and delay management.
- Solid understanding of EPC project execution methodologies.
- Ability to manage planning and monitoring activities for multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent analytical, coordination, leadership and management reporting skills.
- Experience in large-scale infrastructure / EPC / construction organisations.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- 20–30 years of overall experience in Civil Engineering Project Planning and Controls.
- Substantial experience in Water Supply, Water Treatment and Pipeline Infrastructure Projects.
- Experience working in large EPC / Infrastructure / Construction companies.
- Candidates currently handling AGM / DGM / Senior Planning Manager or equivalent positions will be preferred.
- Should have the ability to independently lead the central planning function and provide strategic inputs to senior management.
