About CognicrestCognicrest Investing is building an AI-powered investment research and market intelligence platform that helps retail investors understand companies through structured, transparent and explainable analysis.

Our platform evaluates companies across multiple dimensions, including technical strength, fundamentals, revenue growth, valuation, news, sentiment and event risk. We focus on helping investors make more informed decisions through data-driven insights rather than stock tips.

Role OverviewWe are looking for a curious and analytical Equity Research Associate who enjoys understanding businesses, analysing financial statements and tracking market developments.

You will work closely with the founder to research listed Indian companies, validate AI-generated research, identify financial trends and contribute to improving Cognicrest's company evaluation framework.

Key Responsibilities

1. Fundamental Research

- Analyse quarterly and annual financial statements of listed companies.
- Evaluate revenue growth, profitability, margins, cash flows and debt.
- Identify financial strengths, weaknesses and potential red flags.
- Study valuation metrics such as P/E, P/B, EV/EBITDA and P/S.

1. Company Research

- Understand business models, industry positioning and competitive landscape.
- Track corporate announcements, quarterly results and major developments.
- Identify important business events that may affect company performance.

1. Research Validation

- Review and validate AI-generated company research and scores.
- Verify financial data against reliable primary sources.
- Identify inconsistencies, unsupported claims and missing context.




- Help improve the accuracy and explainability of the research framework.

1. Research Documentation

- Prepare concise company research notes and summaries.
- Maintain structured research records and supporting references.
- Highlight important risks, opportunities and changes in company performance.

Required Skills
- Strong understanding of Indian equity markets.
- Ability to read and interpret financial statements.
- Knowledge of fundamental analysis and valuation methodologies.
- Familiarity with NSE/BSE filings, annual reports and quarterly results.
- Strong analytical and written communication skills.
- Good Excel/Google Sheets skills.

Good to Have
- NISM Research Analyst certification or relevant financial market certifications.
- CFA Level 1 or progress towards CFA.
- Experience with Screener.in, Tijori, Trendlyne or similar platforms.
- Understanding of technical analysis and price action.
- Interest in AI-powered financial research tools.

- Research notes for selected listed companies.
- Quarterly financial performance analysis.
- Company-specific risk and event summaries.
- Validation and feedback on Cognicrest's AI-generated research.
- Contributions to improving the company scoring methodology.

Ideal CandidateSomeone who is genuinely interested in understanding businesses and financial markets, enjoys digging into numbers and can distinguish between actual business performance and market narratives. Important: This role involves research, analysis and validation for an information platform. It does not involve issuing independent investment recommendations or personalized buy/sell advice.
