Job title: Finance Controller
CTC: 18-24 LPA
Company: Vardhman Infinity Private Limited (Streampixel) – part of the Vardexa Group
Location: Delhi, India (in office; periodic travel to group company locations in India and abroad for work – no relocation)
Employment type: Full-time
Seniority: Mid-senior level, individual contributor
Reports to: Founder / CEO
About Streampixel
Streampixel (Vardhman Infinity Private Limited, part of the Vardexa Group) is a pixel streaming platform: we run Unreal Engine and other heavy 3D applications on our own GPU infrastructure and stream them to any browser, with no installs and no high-end hardware. Our customers are enterprises, engineering firms and government bodies across multiple countries. We operate data centres across several regions and work through group entities in more than one jurisdiction.
For finance that means international customers and vendors, hardware on the balance sheet, Stripe-automated billing with real-world exceptions, and tax and compliance obligations in more than one country.
About the role
This is our first in-house finance hire. The role owns both finance and compliance for the group, end-to-end: accounting across all entities, international tax and statutory compliance, billing, collections and payables. Today this sits with the founders and external partners. You will take it over completely and become the person the founders rely on for finance, tax and regulatory decisions.
It is a senior, hands-on operating role with a direct line to the Founder / CEO. You do the work yourself in Tally and Zoho Books, you direct the external advisers rather than being directed by them, and you are the single point of accountability for finance, tax and compliance across the group. There is no team to start with; you build one as the business grows.
What you will do
Accounting and reporting
• Maintain books for every group entity in Tally and/or Zoho Books, with a consistent chart of accounts and a disciplined monthly close
• Produce monthly consolidated management accounts: P&L;, balance sheet, cash flow, receivables and SaaS metrics
- Account for data-centre and GPU hardware as fixed assets: capitalisation, depreciation, vendor commitments and lease / colocation contracts across regions
- Coordinate the local accounting partner in each country for entity books, audits and year-end
International compliance and tax
• Own the statutory compliance calendar for every entity: corporate filings, income-tax returns, GST / VAT / sales tax, TDS and withholding, payroll filings, annual returns and board resolutions
- Own tax and regulatory requirements in every jurisdiction the group operates in, including India, the UAE, Europe and the US; research, interpret and decide what applies, taking specialist advice where needed
- Monitor and manage international tax exposure: Permanent Establishment (PE) risk arising from overseas data centres, staff and customers; Place of Effective Management (POEM)
for foreign entities; DTAA and withholding positions
- Own transfer pricing across the group: inter-company agreements, arm's-length pricing for services and infrastructure, annual TP documentation and Form 3CEB with advisers
- Advise the founders on the tax and compliance implications of new markets, new entities, pricing changes and customer contracts before decisions are made
Tax operations
• Collect tax invoices and certificates monthly from all vendors and platforms (Google Cloud, Google Ads, AWS, Stripe, Microsoft, SaaS tools); chase missing or incorrect documents
- Ensure GST input credit is claimed correctly, reverse-charge on imported services is accounted for, and vendor GST / TDS details are accurate
- Compute and deposit TDS, file quarterly TDS returns, issue certificates, reconcile Form 26AS / AIS with the books and claim TDS refunds due
- Manage foreign withholding on international customer payments: obtain withholding certificates, apply DTAA relief and claim foreign tax credit
Billing, receivables and payables
• Administer Stripe: products, pricing plans, subscriptions, tax settings, refunds, disputes and payouts; keep the automation correct as pricing and markets change
- Handle the exceptions Stripe cannot: enterprise and annual contracts, purchase-order customers, pro-forma invoices, credit notes, bank-transfer payments and corrections
- Reconcile Stripe to the books; manage failed payments and dunning; maintain accurate revenue recognition
• Track collections and ageing; act as the point of contact for customer billing questions (invoices, tax documents, credit notes, disputes)
- Process vendor bills against approvals; schedule payments; reconcile bank and gateway settlements monthly
Non-accounting compliance and controls
• Contracts administration, insurance, vendor onboarding, customer compliance questionnaires, data-protection and export-control documentation
• Report cash, collections, payables and compliance status to the founders weekly; put basic controls in place (approval limits, segregation of duties, audit trail)
What we are looking for
• Chartered Accountant with 3–6 years of post-qualification experience; or CA Inter / CMA / MBA (Finance) with 6+ years of hands-on accounting and compliance experience
- Strong preference for Big 4 (Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PwC) or comparable large-firm background in tax, audit or compliance, now looking to move in-house and own a finance function end-to-end
- At least 2 years handling accounting or compliance for more than one legal entity, or for a business with international customers or entities
- Expert,
day-to-day user of Tally and Zoho Books; able to set up and clean up books, not just operate them
- Practical experience with Stripe or a comparable online billing platform in a SaaS or subscription business
- Strong working knowledge of Indian GST, TDS, MCA and income-tax compliance
• Working knowledge of international tax – Permanent Establishment, POEM, DTAA / withholding and transfer pricing; able to identify exposure early and work with advisers on the position
- Good knowledge of the tax and compliance frameworks in the UAE (corporate tax, VAT, free-zone rules), Europe (VAT, corporate filings, OSS / reverse charge for digital services) and the US (federal and state income tax, sales tax on SaaS, W-8 / W-9 and withholding)
- Able to work independently on regulatory and tax questions: research the rule, form a view and act on it, using external advisers as a check rather than the source
- Highly organised; runs a multi-entity compliance calendar without being chased
- Proficient written and spoken English; corresponds with international customers, advisers, auditors and tax authorities without supervision
- Willing to travel periodically to group company locations in India and overseas
What success looks like
• 30 days: you have taken over all books, bank and Stripe access, and mapped every entity, filing obligation and partner into a single compliance calendar
- 90 days: monthly close is running on time for all entities; receivables ageing is under control with a documented follow-up process; Stripe is fully reconciled
- 12 months: no missed statutory deadlines across the group; consolidated management accounts delivered monthly; customer billing issues resolved within agreed turnaround; the founders are no longer involved in day-to-day finance
Growth path The intent is to build the finance function around the person who proves they can run it. Progression is based on delivered results, not tenure:
- Finance Controller (joining): owns accounting, tax, compliance, billing and collections across all entities; directs external partners; is the founders' go-to on regulatory matters
- Head of Finance: budgeting, cash-flow forecasting, financial model, audits; leads fundraising preparation; hires and manages the first finance team
- CFO, Vardhman Infinity (Streampixel): leadership team; financial strategy, capital raising (VC / PE, debt), term negotiation, investor relations and board reporting, treasury, risk and controls
- Group CFO: finance, compliance and treasury across all Vardexa Group companies; leads finance teams in each entity
What is ahead: the group intends to raise external capital as Streampixel scales. You will be at the centre of it – financial model, data room, financial and tax due diligence, term sheets and investment agreements, cap table and ESOP, investor reporting after the round. This is the experience that takes a Finance Controller to CFO, and it comes far earlier here than in a larger company.
