Role Summary The Field Service Engineer is responsible for providing hands-on, on-site hardware support and IT infrastructure maintenance at client locations across Chennai. The engineer will diagnose technical faults, install and service equipment, conduct regular field visits, manage warranty issues, and ensure prompt resolution to uphold customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

On-Site Field Support: Conduct scheduled and emergency field service calls to client premises across Chennai for hardware setup, maintenance, and diagnostics.

Hardware & Software Troubleshooting: Identify, isolate, and repair faults in desktop computers, laptops, peripherals (printers, scanners), operating systems, and common business applications.

Installation & Deployment: Assemble, configure, and commission computer systems, network peripherals, drivers, and utility software according to customer requirements.

Warranty & Service Claims:



Process and coordinate warranty claims, handle component replacements, and address client technical complaints in accordance with service level agreements (SLAs).

Service Documentation: Maintain accurate daily logs of field visits, replacement parts used, issue resolution details, and customer sign-off reports.

Client Satisfaction: Provide transparent, professional communication to end-users during visits, guiding them on basic preventive measures and ensuring timely turnaround times.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree (UG) in Any Specialization

Experience: 0 to 2 years (freshers are welcome).

Mobility: Willingness to travel daily across customer sites in Chennai; possession of a two-wheeler and valid driving license is generally expected for field dispatch roles.

Key Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

PC hardware assembly, component-level testing, and troubleshooting.

Windows OS configuration, patch updates, and software installation.

Basic networking concepts (LAN cabling, IP configuration, Wi-Fi router setup, and printer sharing).

Soft Skills

Problem-solving and diagnostic capabilities under time-sensitive field conditions.

Strong verbal communication and professional customer-handling skills.

Self-discipline and punctuality in managing daily site call schedules.
