Job Overview

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Retail Interior Designer with 2–3 years of hands-on experience in designing retail stores, showrooms and commercial interior spaces.

The ideal candidate should have a robust understanding of retail design concepts, store planning, customer experience, space optimization, material selection and visual merchandising. The candidate must be capable of translating client requirements and brand guidelines into innovative, functional and aesthetically appealing retail environments.

Candidates with practical experience in retail store design, retail fit-outs and end-to-end design development will be preferred.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

- Understand client briefs, brand requirements and project objectives to develop suitable retail design concepts.
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis and brand studies to understand retail trends and customer behaviour.
- Develop retail space planning, zoning, circulation plans, customer journey maps and furniture layouts.
- Conceptualize and develop innovative retail store designs, showrooms and branded commercial spaces.
- Prepare concept sketches, mood boards, material boards, colour schemes and 3D visualizations.
- Develop 2D layouts and 3D models using AutoCAD and SketchUp.
- Design retail-specific elements such as display units,



product shelving, cash counters, wall displays, feature walls and promotional zones.
- Understand and incorporate visual merchandising, brand identity, signage, lighting and customer engagement elements into store designs.
- Prepare design intent presentations and present design concepts to clients.
- Develop detailed design documentation, including furniture layouts, ceiling plans, flooring layouts, lighting plans, signage details and material specifications.
- Coordinate with technical, project and execution teams to ensure design intent is maintained throughout the project.
- Visit project sites to review ongoing work and ensure design adherence.
- Coordinate with clients for design inputs, clarifications and approvals.
- Review technical drawings and shop drawings to ensure compliance with approved design concepts.
- Support material selection, mock-up reviews and prototyping of retail fixtures and design elements.
- Assist in developing retail design guidelines and manuals after project completion.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Hands-on experience in Retail Interior Design and Store Design.
- Strong understanding of retail space planning, zoning and customer circulation.
- Knowledge of retail display systems, fixtures, shelving and product presentation.




- Understanding of visual merchandising and retail brand identity.
- Good knowledge of materials, finishes, lighting and interior detailing.
- Ability to develop creative retail design concepts and translate them into practical layouts.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp.
- Knowledge of 3D visualization tools will be an added advantage.
- Understanding of working drawings, construction details and basic MEP coordination.
- Good presentation, communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple design assignments and work within project timelines.

Preferred Industry Experience

Candidates should have prior experience in designing:

- Retail stores and branded outlets.
- Fashion and apparel stores.
- Lifestyle and accessories showrooms.
- Electronics and consumer product showrooms.
- F&B; and hospitality retail spaces.
- Commercial and shopping mall retail environments.

Important Candidate Requirements

- 2–3 years of relevant experience in Retail Interior Design.
- Candidates must have practical exposure to retail store design projects.
- Should be able to demonstrate completed retail projects through a portfolio.
- Candidates with only residential interior design experience will not be preferred.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹55,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
