Key Responsibilities

Returns Processing &

- Compliance Ownership

- Own the end-to-end returns process delivered from India, ensuring client SUT returns are filed and paid accurately and on time.

- Ensure returns and data are reviewed for accuracy against quality standards and internal controls, leading corrective action.

- Set work allocation and turnaround-time targets to manage the monthly filing peak between the 5th and the 20th of each month.

Notices, Tax Mail &

- Client Onboarding

- Ensure tax mail and jurisdiction notices are resolved, tracked, and documented on the client portal.

- Support timely client onboarding in partnership with US Implementation leadership.

Quality, Controls &

- Risk Management

- Keep SOC 2 controls and SOPs current so the India center stays audit ready.

- Run a quality assurance program with multi-tier reviews and audits that drives near-zero error rates.

- Protect client data under Vertex security and cross-border privacy requirements, and serve as the India escalation and incident lead.

Process Improvement, Automation &

- Product Partnership

- Apply an AI-first, Lean mindset to continuously improve the returns process with AI agents,



RPA, and automation.

- Keep human review and controls in place for automated work, and build the team's skills to work alongside agents.

- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Support, giving operational feedback that makes Vertex products the best they can be.

Onshore-Offshore Alignment

- Serve as the primary liaison to US MSO leadership, aligning priorities, SLAs, and the filing calendar through a regular operating cadence.

- Define onshore-offshore handoffs and escalation paths, and lead US-to-India work transitions.

- Work with Customer Support and Customer Success to resolve and prevent customer issues across time zones.

People Leadership &

- Talent Development

- Hire, coach, and develop the India team and leaders, setting KPIs and partnering with US leadership on capacity.

- Own employee satisfaction and retention through recurring monthly peaks, in line with local India employment practices.

- Manage the India budget and lead change management with a culture of accountability and innovation.
