Role Overview

Looking for an experienced Desktop Engineer with a robust background in Windows client platform engineering, Windows 11 deployment, SCCM, Intune, PowerShell scripting, and enterprise endpoint management.

The candidate will be responsible for engineering, automating, deploying, supporting, and troubleshooting Windows desktop environments across a large enterprise estate of 32,000+ endpoints.

This is primarily a Windows Platform Engineering / Endpoint Management role, not a basic desktop support or service desk position.

Key Responsibilities

- Engineer, develop, automate, and maintain the Windows client platform across enterprise endpoints.
- Deploy and configure Windows 11 operating systems, including OEM Ready Image to Provision (RTP).
- Perform Windows OS installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and operational support.
- Work with SCCM and Microsoft Intune for endpoint management and Windows deployments.
- Perform Windows kernel-level debugging and advanced troubleshooting.
- Develop automation scripts using PowerShell and C#.
- Manage Windows devices, users, and computers through Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory.
- Configure and manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
- Support Microsoft 365 applications and modern browsers such as Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome.
- Use Splunk or equivalent event log collection and analysis tools for troubleshooting and monitoring.
- Support desktop platform improvements, automation,



and emerging end-user computing technologies.

Mandatory Skills & Experience Overall Experience Minimum 5 years in desktop OS platform engineering, Windows 11Hands-on experience with Windows 11 deployment, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. Windows 11 OSD OS deployment, imaging, provisioning, configuration, and troubleshooting

OEM Ready Image to Provision (RTP) Experience with the specified OEM image-to-provision process

Windows Kernel Debugging Advanced Windows troubleshooting and kernel-level debugging

PowerShell Writing scripts to automate endpoint management and administrative tasks

C# Developing automation utilities or scripts for Windows platform tasks

SCCM Application deployment, OS deployment, device collections, and endpoint management

Intune Device enrollment, configuration profiles, compliance policies, and application deployment Active Directory User/computer objects, permissions, and directory administration

Entra ID Identity and device management

GPO Group Policy creation, configuration, and troubleshooting

Splunk Searching, analysing, and investigating endpoint event logs
