Deputy Manager – Housekeeping

ABOUT THE ROLETo independently manage and supervise the overall housekeeping operations across the University campus, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation and aesthetics across academic buildings, administrative offices, student residential halls, faculty housing, dining areas and all common facilities.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A.

Overall Housekeeping

Operations1.Manage and oversee the complete housekeeping operations across the University campus, including:o Academic blocks and classrooms.o Administrative and faculty office areas.o Student residence halls and hostel facilities.o Faculty and staff residential accommodations.o Libraries, washrooms and research facilities, in coordination with respective departments.o Dining halls, food courts and associated common areas.o Conference rooms, seminar halls, auditoriums and meeting rooms.o Reception areas, lobbies, corridors, staircases and elevators.o Student activity areas, recreational facilities and common spaces.o Washrooms, changing rooms and other sanitation facilities.o External pathways, entrances, designated paved areas and campus surroundings.2. Ensure that all designated areas are cleaned as per the approved frequency, daily schedules and prescribed quality standards.3. Establish and maintain area-wise housekeeping deployment plans, ensuring adequate manpower coverage across all operational locations.

B.

Manpower

Planning and Management1. Plan, allocate and monitor housekeeping manpower in accordance with the approved deployment structure and operational requirements.2. Supervise housekeeping supervisors, housekeeping associates and outsourced manpower.3. Ensure adequate manpower deployment based on the approved manpower.

C.

Student

Residence and Accommodation HousekeepingEnsure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across all student residence halls and associated facilities.2. Monitor housekeeping services in:o Student rooms and designated cleaning areas.o Common lounges and spaces.o Washrooms and bathing facilities.o Corridors, staircases and lobbies.o Pantry and common utility areas.o Reception and entry points.3. Ensure that room cleaning,



common-area cleaning and washroom sanitation are carried out according to approved schedules.4.

Address student housekeeping complaints promptly and ensure proper closure through the designated complaint-management system.5. Ensure privacy, sensitivity and qualified conduct while housekeeping staff access occupied student rooms.6. Monitor cleanliness standards in high-occupancy residence halls and ensure that additional attention is provided during peak usage periods.7.

Coordinate with the Residential Hall Team for periodic inspections and corrective action.

D.

Housekeeping Quality

Assurance and AuditsDevelop and implement comprehensive housekeeping SOPs, checklists and quality-assurance procedures.2. Conduct daily, weekly and monthly inspections across all designated campus areas.3. Introduce an area-wise housekeeping audit mechanism with measurable quality parameters.4.

Maintain inspection records, identify recurring deficiencies and initiate corrective and preventive action.5. Ensure that all supervisors conduct scheduled inspections and submit daily reports.6. Monitor housekeeping quality through:o Cleanliness and visual appearance.o Washroom hygiene and sanitation.o Dust and stain removal.o Floor and surface maintenance.o Waste collection and disposal.o Odour control.o Consumables availability.o Timely complaint resolution.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Qualifications– Graduate in any discipline; a qualification in Hospitality, Housekeeping or Facility Management will be preferred.– Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in housekeeping operations.– At least 2–3 years of Asst. Managerial experience.– Experience in a university, large residential campus, hospitality or integrated facility-management environment will be preferred.
