Job Summary

Media Tech Temple is looking for an experienced and technically skilled Backend Team Lead to lead our backend development team and oversee the development, maintenance, and optimization of backend applications.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Node.js, Express.js, REST APIs, and relational databases, along with the ability to manage developers, review code, assign tasks, and ensure timely project delivery.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Lead, manage, and mentor the backend development team.
- Develop and maintain backend applications using Node.js and Express.js.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely project completion.
- Review code and ensure coding standards, quality, and best practices.
- Work with MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.
- Optimize database queries and backend application performance.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex backend issues.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, project managers, and other teams.
- Use GitLab for version control and code collaboration.
- Ensure application security, scalability, and reliability.
- Participate in technical discussions, project planning, and architecture decisions.
- Identify technical challenges and provide effective solutions.
- Maintain documentation and provide regular project updates to management.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Minimum 3–6 years of experience in backend development using Node.js.




- Solid knowledge of Node.js and Express.js.
- Experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
- Good understanding of MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript ES6+ and asynchronous programming.
- Experience with Git and GitLab.
- Understanding of JWT authentication, middleware, and API security.
- Experience in code reviews and team collaboration.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Ability to manage deadlines and handle multiple projects.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with database optimization and performance tuning.
- Knowledge of third-party API integrations.
- Understanding of deployment processes and server environments.
- Familiarity with Agile development practices.
- Experience in backend architecture and application scalability.

Qualification

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
