Position Summary

Kheoni is looking for a qualified and enthusiastic Cosmetologist with practical knowledge of cosmetic science, skincare formulations and product development. The candidate will be responsible for researching ingredients, developing formulations, conducting laboratory trials, testing product quality, troubleshooting formulation issues and identifying suitable packaging solutions for creams, lotions, serums and other personal care products.

Key Responsibilities

1. Research & Formulation Development

- Research cosmetic ingredients, their properties, compatibility and applications.
- Develop formulations for creams, lotions, moisturisers, serums, gels and other personal care products.
- Conduct laboratory experiments, small-batch trials and improve existing formulations.
- Understand emulsifiers, preservatives, active ingredients and stabilisers.
- Standardise formulations and document ingredient percentages and manufacturing processes.

2. Product Testing & Quality Control

- Conduct pH, viscosity, texture, consistency and stability testing.
- Identify and troubleshoot formulation issues such as separation, discolouration and changes in texture.
- Assist with stability, compatibility and shelf-life assessments.
- Maintain formulation sheets, batch records and testing reports.

3. Packaging Research & Development

- Research suitable packaging options such as jars, bottles, tubes, pumps and droppers.
- Evaluate packaging compatibility with formulations to prevent leakage, contamination and product degradation.
- Conduct packaging trials and coordinate with packaging vendors.
- Explore sustainable, recyclable and reusable packaging alternatives.
- Evaluate packaging based on quality, functionality,



aesthetics and cost.

4. Laboratory Operations & Documentation

- Handle laboratory equipment, instruments and apparatus.
- Follow standard laboratory procedures, cleaning and sanitisation protocols.
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic laboratory workplace.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of raw materials and finished products.
- Maintain research records, formulation sheets, SOPs and inventory records.
- Coordinate with procurement and production teams for product development.

Educational Qualifications

- B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Cosmetic Science, Cosmetology, Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
- B.Pharm / M.Pharm candidates with practical formulation knowledge are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates with relevant cosmetic formulation certifications may also be considered.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Practical knowledge of creams, lotions, gels, serums and skincare formulations.
- Understanding of cosmetic ingredients and formulation processes.
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment, testing and sanitisation procedures.
- Understanding of product stability, troubleshooting and packaging compatibility.
- Good research, analytical and documentation skills.
- Interest in sustainable ingredients and environmentally responsible packaging.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Experience in pharmaceutical or cosmetic formulation laboratories.
- Practical exposure to college laboratory work involving creams, lotions and other formulations.
- Knowledge of cosmetic manufacturing, product testing and packaging.
- Ability to independently conduct formulation trials and troubleshoot issues.
- A hands-on, research-oriented individual willing to take ownership in a growing startup.
