Job Summary

J.D College of Engineering is looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to plan, supervise and maintain the construction and infrastructure of the campus. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in building works and is proficient in coordinating MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) services, ensuring that all work is completed to quality standards, within budget and on schedule.

Qualification and Experience

- B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in civil engineering
- Proven experience in building construction work (institutional, commercial or residential buildings)
- Experience in educational institutions or large campus projects is an added advantage

Key Responsibilities

Civil and Building Works

- Plan, execute and supervise new construction, renovation, extension and repair works on campus
- Review architectural and structural drawings, and ensure work is carried out as per approved designs and specifications
- Prepare and verify Bills of Quantities (BOQ), cost estimates, measurements and contractor bills
- Monitor site progress, quality, safety and timelines; prepare progress reports for management
- Ensure quality of materials (cement, steel, concrete, bricks, tiles, etc.) through testing and inspection

Contractor and Vendor Management

- Prepare tender documents, evaluate quotations and recommend contractors and vendors
- Negotiate rates and finalise work orders and agreements
- Supervise contractors, ensure compliance with scope, quality and safety norms
- Certify bills and manage payment schedules

Maintenance and Facility Management





- Plan and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of buildings, labs, hostels, classrooms and utilities
- Maintain records of AMCs, warranties, equipment and maintenance schedules
- Respond promptly to infrastructure issues and breakdowns

Compliance, Safety and Documentation

- Ensure compliance with building codes, IS standards, NBC, fire safety norms and local authority regulations
- Coordinate with AICTE, university and statutory bodies for infrastructure-related inspections and approvals
- Obtain required permissions, completion and occupancy certificates
- Enforce site safety practices, PPE use and safe working conditions
- Maintain complete project documentation, drawings (as-built), measurement books and records

Budgeting and Planning

- Prepare annual infrastructure and maintenance budgets and control project costs
- Suggest cost-saving and energy-efficient measures, including green building and sustainability practices
- Plan future expansion and infrastructure development of the campus

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of structural design principles, construction methods and building materials
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of STAAD Pro, Revit, MS Project, Primavera and MS Office
- Strong estimation, costing, quantity surveying and billing skills
- Good understanding of MEP drawings and ability to read and coordinate them
- Strong leadership, team management and decision-making ability
- Good communication, negotiation and reporting skills in English, Hindi and Marathi
- Ability to handle multiple projects and work under deadlines
- Integrity, accountability and attention to quality

Compensation

As per experience and qualification, and as per institute norms.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
