General Practitioner (GP)

1. Job Summary

We are looking for a qualified and experienced General Practitioner (GP) to join our medical team in Kochi.

The incumbent will be responsible for conducting physical and medical examinations of visa applicants in accordance with established medical protocols, examination checklists, and organizational guidelines. The role involves evaluating patients' health conditions, reviewing medical investigation reports, documenting clinical findings, and providing appropriate recommendations regarding medical fitness.

The GP will ensure accurate and timely completion of medical examinations, review and approval of medical reports within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and provide appropriate health education and guidance to applicants. The role also requires effective coordination with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care and smooth centre operations.

2. Key Roles and Responsibilities

A. Medical Examination & Clinical Assessment

- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations of visa applicants in accordance with prescribed medical checklists and established clinical protocols.
- Assess applicants' medical conditions and document clinical findings with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Review medical history, investigation reports, diagnostic results,



and examination findings to determine the applicant's medical fitness.
- Provide appropriate recommendations regarding medical fitness (Fit/Unfit) based on established medical guidelines and applicable requirements.
- Order, review, and interpret relevant medical investigations wherever required.
- Identify abnormal findings and ensure appropriate follow-up, evaluation, and documentation.
- Refer patients to specialists or other healthcare practitioners whenever clinically necessary.
- Provide health education, counselling, and appropriate guidance to applicants regarding their medical conditions and preventive healthcare.

B. Clinical Documentation & Reporting

- Accurately complete all relevant clinical details in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and other prescribed medical reporting formats.
- Maintain comprehensive and updated patient records, including medical history, examination findings, investigation reports, and treatment details.
- Review and approve medical reports within the defined timelines and agreed SLAs.
- Ensure accurate documentation and timely declaration of applicants' medical fitness status.
- Ensure all daily medical reports are reviewed, updated,



and uploaded into the clinical management system without backlogs.
- Verify that reports from investigations conducted during previous shifts, including night-time operations, are appropriately reviewed and recorded.
- Ensure all required MIS reports are prepared and shared with the concerned departments within prescribed timelines and formats.

C. Treatment & Patient Care

- Prescribe or administer appropriate treatment, medication, vaccinations, and other medical interventions in accordance with clinical requirements and approved protocols.
- Provide appropriate medical advice and explain examination procedures, investigation findings, and prescribed treatments to patients.
- Address patient queries and ensure a qualified, empathetic, and patient-centric approach.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure the secure handling of patient medical information.
- Handle medical emergencies and provide immediate clinical assistance within the scope of professional competence.

D. Team Coordination & Operational Support

- Coordinate effectively with nursing staff, laboratory personnel, radiology teams, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
