Profile : STP Engineer

Location :CGC University Mohali

A Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) Lab Technician is responsible for monitoring, testing, and analyzing water samples to ensure that the sewage treatment process is operating efficiently and in compliance with environmental regulations. They play a critical role in maintaining the health of the plant by analyzing effluent and sewage water quality, adjusting chemical doses, and ensuring treated water meets regulatory standards

Key Responsibilities

- Sampling and Analysis: Collect, label, and analyze wastewater and sewage samples on a daily basis, checking parameters such as pH, BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand), COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), TDS (Total Dissolved Solids), and TSS (Total Suspended Solids).
- Process Monitoring: Monitor treatment plant operations, including primary, secondary, and tertiary treatments (e.g., aeration, filtration, sludge management).
- Chemical Management: Prepare, standardize,



and use laboratory reagents and chemical solutions for testing.

Equipment Maintenance: Calibrate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment (e.g., pH meters, spectrophotometers, BOD incubators) and troubleshoot minor operational issues.

- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate daily logs, analytical data, and reports of water quality for regulatory compliance and audit purposes.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and environmental regulations, ensuring proper handling and disposal of chemicals and hazardous waste.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education: B.Sc. in Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a Diploma in Environmental Science/Engineering.
