Job Title: AC Mechanic / Refrigeration & A/C Technician**

Location: All Pyramid Outlets, Ambala

Key Roles and Responsibilities

An AC Mechanic is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of all air conditioning and refrigeration equipment to ensure guest comfort and operational efficiency.

1. Installation, Maintenance, and Repair
- System Installation**: Install new air conditioning units, including split systems, package units, ducted units, and window ACs, following manufacturer guidelines and blueprints.
- Preventive Maintenance : Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all HVAC equipment (e.g., central plants, Air Handling Units, Fan Coil Units, VRV systems) to avoid system breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan. This includes:

- Cleaning and replacing air filters, coils, and condensate drains.
- Lubricating motors and inspecting belts and bearings.
- Checking and tightening all electrical connections.
- Component Repair : Repair or replace defective parts such as compressors, motors, fans, thermostats, capacitors, and relays.

2. Diagnostics and Troubleshooting
- System Analysis : Diagnose electrical and mechanical malfunctions in air-conditioning systems using diagnostic tools like multimeters, pressure gauges, and leak detectors.
- Performance Evaluation : Inspect and test HVAC components (compressors, motors, thermostats, fans) to assess system performance, temperature differentials, and airflow.
- Refrigerant Management : Test for refrigerant leaks, recover and recharge refrigerant according to environmental regulations.

3. Guest Service and Communication
- Guest Requests : Respond promptly and courteously to guest repair requests related to room temperature or AC performance.
- Issue Resolution : Communicate with guests and supervisors to resolve maintenance issues effectively, explaining problems and solutions in a clear, professional manner.

4. Safety and Compliance
- Safety Protocols : Adhere to all company and safety policies,



including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Lockout/Tagout procedures, and safe handling of refrigerants.
- Regulatory Compliance : Ensure all work complies with safety standards, environmental regulations (like EPA guidelines for refrigerants), and local building codes.

5. Record Keeping and Coordination
- Maintenance Logs : Maintain accurate records of preventive maintenance, service calls, repairs performed, and parts used.
- Reporting : Report any major faults, safety hazards, or recurring issues to the supervisor promptly.
- Team Collaboration : Coordinate with other technicians and departments (e.g., Front Office, Housekeeping) to complete tasks efficiently with mínimal disruption to guests.

Qualifications and Skills Education and Experience
- Education : ITI or Diploma in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, or a related HVAC field from a recognized institute.
- Experience : 1-6 years of hands-on experience in maintenance, preferably in hotels, commercial buildings, or facilities management.
- Certification : Relevant HVAC/refrigeration certification (e.g., EPA Section 608) is highly preferred.

Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical components of HVAC systems.
- Proficiency in using HVAC tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.

- Physical ability to handle equipment, work at heights, and in various conditions.

Working Conditions
- Environment : Work involves exposure to indoor and outdoor environments, mechanical rooms, and guest rooms. May include work in hot/cold conditions or confined spaces.
- Physical Effort : Ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 pounds or more with assistance. Requires standing, walking, bending, and climbing ladders for extended periods.
