The Should Cost Engineer will be responsible for developing part and product-level cost estimates working within the Supply Chain Management. Develop cost estimates for PCB/PCBAs, electrical/electronic components, ECUs, sensors, connectors, wiring harnesses, motors, actuators, power electronics and electromechanical and mechatronics assemblies.
Run relevant should costing software and analytical models to generate cost estimates.
Reporting and Analytics – Should have good experience on data analysis, report preparation and presentation to senior leadership.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Instrumentation or related engineering discipline

Strong knowledge of electrical and electronics commodities, including PCB/PCBA, electronic components, inverters, wiring harnesses, connectors, sensors, ECUs, motors, actuators and power electronics.

- Good understanding of PCB fabrication, SMT, through-hole assembly, soldering, programming, testing and electronic assembly processes.
- Working knowledge of electrical and electronic BOMs, schematics, component specifications, manufacturing processes, cycle times, yield and tooling.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical commodities, including plastics, sheet metal, rubber, machining, die casting and mechanical assemblies.
- Proficiency in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly, procurement processes, PPAP, GD&T; and raw-material analysis.
- Working knowledge of CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Creo or SolidWorks; Experience in Total Cost of Ownership, supplier quotation analysis, fact-pack preparation and cost-gap analysis.
- Strong data analytics skills and ability to interpret 2D and 3D drawings.
- Proficiency in MS Office, ERP and PLM systems.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies, including AI, IoT, 3D printing and design thinking, with a strong aptitude for technology.
- Ability to develop and maintain should-cost databases covering material and component costs, process rates, regional benchmarks and lessons learned.
- Ability to independently manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines with minimal direction."
