Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Manager with strong exposure to the shipping agency industry. The candidate should have expertise in managing end-to-end accounting operations for multiple companies (approximately 5-6 entities), along with sound knowledge of foreign exchange (Forex), currency conversion, and related calculations.

The ideal candidate should be capable of independently handling financial transactions, maintaining accurate books of accounts, managing foreign currency transactions, and ensuring financial and statutory compliance across multiple business entities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Multi-Company Accounting
- Independently manage end-to-end accounting operations for 5-6 companies.
- Maintain separate books of accounts, ledgers, journals, and financial records for each entity.
- Handle inter-company transactions, reconciliations, and consolidated financial reporting.
- Monitor receivables, payables, cash flow, and outstanding balances.

- Shipping Agency Accounting

- Handle accounting operations related to shipping agency activities.
- Manage vessel-related expenses, port charges, agency disbursements, and vendor payments.
- Handle Principal/Agent accounting, client billing, and reconciliation of shipping-related transactions.
- Prepare and verify Port Disbursement Accounts (PDA) and Final Disbursement Accounts (FDA), wherever applicable.
- Ensure accurate accounting of freight, foreign vendor payments, and shipping-related financial transactions.

- Forex & Foreign Currency Management

- Possess strong knowledge of foreign exchange transactions and currency conversion.
- Calculate Forex rates, exchange differences, and foreign currency gains or losses.
- Handle foreign currency receipts, payments, and bank reconciliations.




- Understand the accounting treatment of foreign currency transactions.
- Monitor exchange rate fluctuations and ensure accurate recording of forex transactions.

- Financial Reporting & Reconciliation

- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Handle bank reconciliation, ledger scrutiny, and balance sheet schedules.
- Monitor financial performance and prepare MIS reports.
- Ensure accuracy of financial data across all entities.

- Taxation & Statutory Compliance

- Handle GST, TDS, and other applicable statutory compliances.
- Coordinate with auditors, consultants, and financial institutions.
- Assist in finalisation of accounts and statutory audits.
- Ensure timely filing and compliance with applicable financial regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in Commerce (B.Com); M.Com / CA Inter / MBA Finance preferred.
- 8-10 years of relevant experience in accounts and finance.
- Strong experience in the shipping agency industry is essential.
- Proven experience handling accounts of 5-6 companies simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of Forex transactions, exchange rate calculations, and foreign currency accounting.
- Valuable understanding of GST, TDS, taxation, and statutory compliance.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software / ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, reconciliation, financial reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple accounting operations and meet deadlines.

Preferred Candidate Profile

A hands-on Accounts Manager with substantial shipping agency exposure, strong multi-entity accounting experience, and the ability to independently manage domestic and international financial transactions, particularly Forex-related accounting.
