Role & responsibilities

- Design and implement database schemas, tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and PL/pgSQL functions.
- Perform database performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and query optimization.
- Implement database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Configure and manage database replication, clustering, and high availability.
- Ensure database security, access controls, and data integrity.
- Work closely with application developers and solution architects for database design and integration.
- Support database migration, ETL processes, and data synchronization.
- Monitor database health, capacity, and resource utilization.
- Prepare database documentation and operational procedures.

Preferred candidate profile

- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL database administration and development.
- Proficiency in SQL and PL/pgSQL programming.
- Good understanding of database architecture, schema design, indexing, and partitioning.
- Experience in query execution plans, performance tuning, and optimization.
- Knowledge of stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views.




- Understanding of database backup, recovery, and replication mechanisms.
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL high availability and disaster recovery concepts.
- Experience working in Linux/Unix environments.
- Understanding of database security, roles, privileges, and access management.
- Knowledge of data modeling and ETL processes.

Preferred Skills

- Knowledge of PostgreSQL automation and monitoring tools.
- Exposure to PostgreSQL replication and clustering solutions such as Patroni.
- Knowledge of connection pooling tools such as PgBouncer.
- Exposure to database migration, version upgrades, and large-volume data handling.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and database CI/CD automation.
