Job Purpose

To ensure that all construction, fabrication, erection, installation, and commissioning activities at the NTPC Barauni Project Site comply with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, applicable codes, and NTPC requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Implement and monitor the approved Quality Assurance Plan (QAP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and Field Quality Plans (FQPs).

- Conduct quality inspections of civil, structural, mechanical, piping, and equipment erection activities, as applicable to the assigned scope.

- Verify materials, equipment, and components against approved drawings, specifications, and material test certificates.

- Coordinate inspection activities with NTPC representatives, EPC contractors, subcontractors, and third-party inspection agencies.

- Monitor welding, fit-up, alignment, bolting, grouting, and dimensional inspections.

- Coordinate Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), including UT, RT, MT, PT, and visual inspection, as applicable.

- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, Request for Inspection (RFI), Material Inspection Reports (MIR), and quality records.

- Identify quality deviations and raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), ensuring timely corrective and preventive action.

- Conduct site quality audits and monitor compliance with approved method statements and quality procedures.

- Ensure calibration and validity of measuring and testing instruments.

- Monitor quality issues, inspection status, and corrective actions with site execution teams.

- Maintain quality documentation, including inspection records, test reports, and material certificates.

- Prepare and maintain quality dossiers, punch-list records, and final handover documentation.

- Ensure adherence to applicable IS,



ASME, ASTM, AWS, and project-specific quality standards.

- Coordinate with the Project Manager, Construction, Planning, and Safety teams to ensure quality compliance without affecting project progress.

Educational Qualification

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Civil, or relevant Engineering discipline.

- Relevant QA/QC certifications will be an added advantage.

Experience

- 3–7 years of relevant experience in QA/QC activities in EPC, thermal power plant, or industrial construction projects.

- Experience in NTPC / thermal power plant projects will be preferred.

- Practical experience in site inspection, quality documentation, and client coordination is desirable.

Required Skills

- Robust knowledge of QA/QC procedures and inspection methodologies.

- Knowledge of QAP, ITP, FQP, NCR, and CAPA documentation.

- Familiarity with power plant construction and erection activities.

- Good communication and coordination skills.

- Proficiency in MS Office and quality documentation.

- Ability to work independently at project sites and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

- Compliance with approved quality plans and specifications.

- Reduction in NCRs and repeat quality observations.

- Timely closure of quality issues.

- Inspection and documentation completion within stipulated timelines.

- Successful quality audits and client inspections.

- Timely submission of quality dossiers and handover documentation.
