Job Summary

The Senior CMDB Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing the enterprise Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within ServiceNow. This role ensures high-quality, reliable, and scalable configuration data that powers ITSM, ITOM, SAM, APM, and automation initiatives.

This position requires strong technical expertise, architecture thinking, and hands-on development across CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, and integrations, along with ownership of data governance, health, and lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities

- CMDB Architecture & Development
- Design and maintain CMDB data models (CSDM aligned), CI class structures, and relationships
- Develop and enhance ServiceNow CMDB using:

- Business Rules, Script Includes, Flow Designer, UI Policies

Configure and maintain Discovery, Service Mapping, and CMDB WorkspaceImplement lifecycle states, CI governance rules, and automation Discovery, Service Mapping & IntegrationsBuild and maintain Discovery patterns, schedules, probes,



and MID server configurationsIntegrate CMDB with enterprise systems (e.g., SCCM, Intune, AWS, Azure, monitoring tools)Define Identification & Reconciliation Engine (IRE) rules and normalization processesEnsure trusted system-of-record integration and deduplication strategies Data Quality & CMDB HealthMonitor and improve CMDB health KPIs:
- Completeness, correctness, compliance

Implement:
- Data certification
- Duplicate CI detection
- Reconciliation automation

Conduct root cause analysis for data issues and drive corrective actions Governance & Process AlignmentDefine and enforce:
- CI naming conventions
- Data standards and policies
- Lifecycle and ownership models

Align CMDB with ITIL processes:
- Incident, Change, Problem, Asset lifecycle

Partner with ITSM, ITOM, SAM, APM, Security teams for cross-domain alignment Automation & InnovationIdentify and implement automation opportunities:
- CI onboarding
- Data reconciliation
- Service mapping enrichment

Now Assist for CMDB: Enable AI-driven or rule-based CMDB operations (e.g., duplicate detection, anomaly detection).Predictive Intelligence & AIOps: Integrating the CMDB with ITOM Predictive Intelligence to proactively identify configuration anomalies, duplicates, and data gaps.AI-Driven Service Graph Connectors:



Leveraging automated data ingestion pipelines that use ML to map third-party data into the CMDB accurately. Stakeholder CollaborationWork with:
- Infrastructure teams (compute, storage, network, cloud)
- Application owners and architects
- Asset and procurement teams

Translate business requirements into scalable CMDB solutionsProvide technical leadership and mentoring to junior developers
