Operating machinery: Plant operators use a variety of machinery, such as cranes, excavators, bulldozers, and forklifts, to move materials, perform excavations, and create structures.
Monitoring and troubleshooting: Plant operators monitor the machinery to ensure it's operating smoothly and report any issues. They also troubleshoot equipment and identify process deviations.
Maintaining machinery: Plant operators perform routine and preventive maintenance on the machinery.
Ensuring safety and compliance: Plant operators ensure the plant adheres to safety and environmental rules.
Improving the plant: Plant operators may design and implement projects to improve the plant.
General housekeeping: Plant operators may perform general housekeeping tasks.
Using computers: Plant operators may use computers and software packages to manage operations.
