MongoDB DBA
10+ years of database administration, with at least 34+ years focused heavily on MongoDB in large-scale production environments
Deep knowledge of MongoDB architecture, including replica sets, sharded clusters, and the WiredTiger storage engine
Proficiency in scripting languages, primarily Python and Shell scripting (Bash), for automating routine tasks
Solid skills in Linux/Unix operating systems, which serve as the foundation for most MongoDB deployments
Hands-on experience with MongoDB Atlas or managed services in cloud settings like AWS, Azure, or GCP

Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or MongoDB Ops Manager
Administer and maintain MongoDB clusters, performing installations, upgrades, and patches (e.g., patching from 6.0 to 7.0)
Proactively analyze query patterns, optimize indexes,



and fine-tune MongoDB/server configurations for maximum performance
Design and implement HA solutions (replica sets) and disaster recovery (DR) plans to ensure 99.99% uptime and low RTO/RPO

Identify operational patterns, create automation scripts, and convert manual runbooks into executable tools
Implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), auditing, and data encryption to meet compliance standards such as GDPR or SOC2

Act as a subject matter expert (SME), advising developers on schema design (embedding vs. linking) and participating in 24x7 on-call rotations
