Job Title: Ethnic Wear Designer

Location: V-Mart Retail, Gurgaon

Department: Design – Womenswear

Experience: 1–3 Years

Reports To: Manager Design

Job Purpose

To develop creative, trend-driven and commercially viable women's ethnic wear collections aligned with the value retail segment and customer preferences.

Key Responsibilities
Develop seasonal collections across kurtas, kurtis, dresses, co-ord sets, SKD and ethnic bottoms.
Conduct trend, market and competitor research to identify emerging styles, colours, prints and silhouettes.
Create mood boards, colour stories, print/embroidery concepts and technical/flat sketches.
Demonstrate strong understanding of Indian ethnic silhouettes, fabrics, prints, embroideries and garment detailing.
Develop designs considering customer preferences, market trends, target price points and commercial viability.
Coordinate with merchandising, sourcing,



sampling and production teams from concept development to final product.
Review samples and ensure design accuracy, quality and detailing.

Required Skills & Competencies
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; knowledge of AI-based design tools is an added advantage.
Strong understanding of women's ethnic wear and Indian fashion trends.
Positive knowledge of fabrics, prints, embroideries, colour combinations and garment construction.
Creative mindset with a solid eye for detail, colour and commercial fashion.
Good communication and cross-functional coordination skills.

Desired Candidate Profile
1–3 years of experience in women's ethnic wear designing.
Experience with value retail, mass-market fashion or apparel brands will be preferred.
Candidates should have a solid design portfolio showcasing ethnic wear collections.
