Role Description The Freelance Copyeditor role at Writal is a contract, on-site position based in New Delhi. In this role, the copyeditor reviews and refines written content for grammar, clarity, consistency, and style, ensuring alignment with guidelines and client requirements. Daily tasks include editing and proofreading text, checking for factual accuracy where applicable, and improving structure and flow without altering the author’s intent. The copyeditor collaborates with writers and project managers to clarify ambiguities,



meet deadlines, and maintain a smooth editorial workflow. The role also involves preparing clean, final versions of documents and supporting quality control across multiple projects.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess solid Grammar and Proofreading skills to ensure error-free, precise copy.
Candidates should possess Text Editing and Editorial skills to refine structure, tone, and consistency.
Candidates should possess Writing skills to suggest transparent, effective revisions and alternative phrasing.
Candidates should have excellent attention to detail, time management, and the ability to handle multiple assignments.
Candidates should be comfortable working in office in New Delhi and collaborating with diverse teams and clients.
Relevant experience in copyediting, publishing, communications, or related fields is beneficial.
