Role Purpose

Own the end-to-end architecture and delivery integrity of the onboarding self-service solution. This role translates the fixed-price SOW into an executable architecture, dependency map, delivery backlog, governance rhythm, and accepted gate outcomes while remaining hands-on enough to resolve cross-platform technical decisions.

What this role will deliver

- Approved architecture, ADRs, request schema, environment matrix, delivery backlog, activity catalog, governance artifacts, and scope baseline.
- Walking skeleton onboarding one pattern into one NonProd environment with health validation and summary output.
- Accepted gate evidence for NonProd onboarding, production onboarding, operational readiness, knowledge transfer, and production launch.

Key Responsibilities

Discovery and scope leadership

- Lead structured interviews with CI/CD, Platform, Cloud, Security, and Release Workflow SMEs.
- Own the Onboarding Activity Catalog, including activities, owners, triggers, inputs, outputs, dependencies, existing automation, failure modes, and approvals.
- Establish the scope baseline for two application patterns, eight environments, up to twelve one-time activities, and up to thirty per-environment activities; route additions through change control.
- Produce recommendations on overlapping automation and drive timely customer decisions.

Architecture and technical governance

- Define the target architecture and confirm the Jenkins orchestration pattern at Gate 1.
- Design the single request contract, validation rules, defaults, environment configuration matrix, module interfaces, and dependency graph.
- Ensure identity, secrets, policy, audit, security, resiliency,

observability, and evidence requirements are built into every module.
- Review designs and code for deterministic behavior, idempotency, safe retries, resume from failure, and prevention of duplicate resources.
- Keep runtime AI, autonomous approval, new portal creation, and other out-of-scope capabilities outside the delivery baseline.

Delivery and acceptance management

- Build and maintain the integrated delivery plan, backlog, governance cadence, RAID log, decision log, and weekly demonstration agenda.
- Coordinate work across automation, CI/CD, and quality roles, with additional parallel build capacity during Phase 2.
- Lead Gate 1, Gate 2, and Gate 3 readiness reviews and ensure acceptance evidence maps clearly to each deliverable.
- Escalate access, environment stability, security review, SME availability, change freeze, and production approval risks early.
- Own transition readiness, support model, ownership matrix, runbooks, knowledge transfer, code handover, and launch acceptance.

Required experience and qualifications

- 12+ years in software/platform engineering, including 5+ years leading DevOps, cloud platform, or enterprise automation delivery.
- Demonstrated architecture ownership for Jenkins-based CI/CD, Kubernetes/AKS, infrastructure as code, GitOps,

and enterprise workflow integrations.
- Experience leading fixed-price or milestone-based delivery with formal acceptance criteria, RAID management, executive reporting, and change control.
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; relevant Azure/Kubernetes/DevOps certification is desirable.
- Excellent stakeholder facilitation and written communication across engineering, security, cloud, release management, and business owners.

Mandatory technical competencies

- Solution architecture covering request validation, dependency-based orchestration, reusable modules, setting configuration, approvals, telemetry, audit, and outcome reporting.
- Deep knowledge of AKS, Jenkins pipelines/shared libraries, Terraform, Helm, GitOps patterns, secrets management, identity/RBAC, policy controls, and secure software supply-chain practices.
- Ability to assess automation as wrap, harden, expose, build, or retain as a human decision, and recommend which overlapping implementation should remain.
- Architecture decision record (ADR) discipline, non-functional requirements, failure-mode analysis, idempotency, retry/resume design, and operational readiness.

Ability to design for five NonProd environments running in parallel, followed by controlled production approval and deployment sequencing
