JOB DESCRIPTION - STAFF NURSE

Role & responsibilities

- Provide direct nursing care to patients as per their clinical needs and prescribed treatment plans.
- Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and changes in patients health conditions.
- Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed by authorised medical practitioners.
- Assist doctors during clinical examinations, procedures, and emergency situations.
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation, medication charts, and patient records.
- Ensure proper patient admission, transfer, discharge, and shift handover procedures.




- Follow infection prevention and control protocols, including hand hygiene and biomedical waste management.
- Ensure patient identification, medication safety, and compliance with patient safety standards.
- Educate patients and their attendants regarding treatment, medication, hygiene, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain the cleanliness, readiness, and proper functioning of nursing equipment and patient care areas.

Preferred candidate profile

- GNM / B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing from a recognised institution.
- Valid registration with the applicable State Nursing Council.
- Relevant hospital nursing experience preferred.
- Freshers may be considered as per hospital requirements and department-specific eligibility criteria.
