The FO Valuation team forms part of the FTM team, providing Finance and Valuation expertise in support of deal delivery within the remit of the Acquisition, Divestment & NBD team (Corporate M&A;, Acquisition, Divestment, NBD, Exploration), aiming to generate sustainable value and drive strategic portfolio changes through the Energy Transition, by delivering innovative, integrated commercial deals, from inception to successful completion. FTM also provide trusted, independent advice and analysis to decision makers.



The Valuation team performs fit-for-purpose economics and financial analysis for all Shell businesses (Upstream, Downstream, Integrated Gas, Renewables & Energy Solutions) with an internal and external lens,

quantifying risks and returns across the integrated value chain, providing impactful valuation insights to decision makers to support informed decisions with proximity to the Business Opportunity Managers.



Besides the valuation work, the team supports (in a limited capacity) various critical businesses (such as Chemicals, LNG, Lubricants, Group pensions, Retail etc.) of the group by providing financial modelling services (building and assuring the financial model) and enables the business in decision making.

What’s the role?



You’ll join a team of consultants who provide valuation & financial modelling support to the Shell Group of companies. Our gamut of services is spread across the globe. You will also support Shell’s businesses and functions globally across streams on a project by project basis gaining an overview of the entire organization. In your role,

you will get an opportunity to support on real time projects being evaluated by the firm.



The role involves leading a team and contributing to the growth of the team members.



You can look forward to contributing to the team’s work in the following areas:



- Providing Valuation expertise in support of deal delivery within the remit of the Acquisition, Divestment & NBD team (Corporate M&A;, Acquisition, Divestment, NBD, Exploration), aiming to generate sustainable value and drive strategic portfolio changes through the Energy Transition, by delivering innovative, integrated commercial deals, from inception to successful completion

- Performs fit-for-purpose economics and financial analysis for all Shell businesses (Upstream, Downstream, Integrated Gas & New Energies) with an internal and external lens,

quantifying risks and returns across the integrated value chain, providing impactful valuation insights to decision makers to support informed decisions with close proximity to the Business Opportunity Managers

- Provide valuation support on 1 to 5 deals at any one time, depending on size and complexity

- Opportunity to deepen experience in value chains; valuation analysis; the Decision Quality methodology; valuation model building; fiscal systems; commercial negotiations; risk & uncertainty; identifying value drivers and using these to improve value propositions; preparing decision documents (PCNs, GIPs/GDPs); and internal/external stakeholder management

- Develop experience in coaching and supporting / peer-reviewing others

- Work on projects outside valuation space(M&A; teams) to build broader capability within Shell



- Conduct extensive trainings on valuation concepts, mitigating risks in financial modelling, Shell’s best practices and impart the knowledge to other teams (across the globe)

- Managing the project queue and allocating to the team depending on the availability and aspirations of the team members

- Manage stakeholders across the group and align on the expectations (in terms of support needed, timelines etc.)

- Contribute to the team’s development by providing guidance on career development, improvement areas and recognizing the good work through various forums such as monthly connects, team meetings, appraisal discussions etc.



Skills and Requirements - What we need from you



Well-rounded finance professional (MBA, CA, CFA, CIMA, ACCA etc.) with 7-10 years of experience in business finance (preferably with experience in financial modelling, equity research, transaction support,

and investment analysis). Economic and financial modelling (Excel spreadsheet) experience is essential Intermediate technical knowledge in Corporate Finance, Valuation, Financial Analysis would be needed. Project management skills – track record of prioritizing and delivering your own workload. Stakeholder management – influencing, advising and challenging others – is an important part of the job. Problem solving mindset with the courage to ensure professional financial rigor is applied to decision-making process. Good written and verbal communication skills. Good analytical aptitude, and ability to ask questions Strong collaboration & interpersonal skills. Actively promote the sharing of knowledge within the group Be organized and structured in the completion of tasks
