This role is responsible for setting clear direction, enabling execution, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The manager ensures database platforms supporting hybrid cloud environments to meet enterprise standards for availability, stability, security, currency, and performance.

Acting as a strategic partner, the manager collaborates with Database leadership, technology leads, and cross-functional stakeholders to advance organizational and IT strategies. This role integrates technology solutions into business processes while ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards, balancing innovation with disciplined risk management.

This is a hybrid role based in Hyderabad, India, with an expectation to work from the office minimally three days per week.

Responsibilities (Leadership Aligned)

- Lead with Inspiration and Authenticity by coaching, mentoring, and developing engineers, fostering engagement, trust, and inclusive collaboration.
- Own results with pace and accountability by managing daytoday database operations and ensuring reliable, secure, and productive service delivery.
- Establish performance expectations and use data and metrics to proactively identify risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.
- Champion customer-centric outcomes by ensuring database platforms enable business agility, resilience, and value creation.
- Partner with senior leaders to shape technology strategy and execution, aligning workforce capabilities to enterprise priorities.
- Collaborate across teams to solve complex problems with innovation, balancing speed, quality, and risk.
- Strengthen security,



controls, and compliance through disciplined governance, audits, and continuous improvement.
- Drive automation and engineering excellence to reduce operational toil, improve recovery, and accelerate time to market.
- Model a continuous learning mindset, staying current with industry trends and translating them into actionable improvements.
- Act as a culture steward, reinforcing The Hartford’s values and behaviors through daily leadership actions.

Qualifications (LeadershipAligned)

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (preferred).
- Deep expertise in enterprise database technologies with the ability to guide architectural and operational decisions.
- At least 9 years of IT experience, including 5 years in people leadership roles, demonstrating progressive leadership impact.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence stakeholders, and deliver outcomes aligned to business strategy.
- Experience overseeing enterprise scale database architecture, performance optimization, and infrastructure strategy.
- Strong understanding of cloud and virtualization platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, VMware) and databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Exadata, and native cloud databases.
- Ability to lead teams using automation and scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Terraform) to improve efficiency and resilience.
- Experience managing largescale initiatives, including budgeting, capacity planning, and stakeholder communication.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, sound judgment, and risk management, with confidence operating in dynamic environments.
