State Sales Head Agri Drone Business
Department: Sales & Business Development
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reporting To: CxO
Coverage: Maharashtra (Primary) with responsibility for new state market activation
Regions Covered:
Vidarbha | Marathwada | Western Maharashtra | Khandesh
Team Structure Reporting:

1. Role Overview
The State Sales Head Agri Drone Business will be responsible for driving statewide revenue growth, strategic partnerships, and expansion of Salam Kisans drone ecosystem across Maharashtra and emerging markets in other states.
This role carries full accountability for sales performance, market development, and institutional partnerships for the agri-drone vertical.
The State Sales Head will lead the state-wide sales organization, oversee Regional Sales Managers, and ensure alignment between sales strategy, field execution, and business growth objectives.
Beyond sales management, this role will actively drive large-scale adoption of drone technology through government programs, CSR initiatives, institutional partnerships, and international funding opportunities.
The State Sales Head will play a key role in building partnerships with public institutions, private sector organizations, CSR foundations, and bilateral and multilateral agencies to scale Salam Kisans drone solutions for agriculture.
2. Key Roles & Responsibilities
A. State-wide Sales Strategy & Revenue Ownership
1) Lead and execute statewide drone sales strategy aligned with company growth targets
2) Own and deliver annual revenue and sales targets for drone business
3) Drive market penetration and adoption of drone technology across districts
4) Develop and implement state-level sales expansion plans
5) Monitor and strengthen regional and district-level sales pipelines
6) Ensure consistent achievement of sales and revenue targets across regions
B. Business Expansion & New State Activation
1) Identify opportunities for expansion of Salam Kisans drone business into new states
2) Lead market entry strategies for new geographies
3) Develop state activation plans including partnerships, sales networks, and institutional engagement
4) Build early partnerships with government bodies, agri institutions, and ecosystem partners in new states
5) Support creation of replicable expansion models for scaling drone operations beyond Maharashtra
C. Government Partnerships & Public Sector Engagement
1) Establish strategic relationships with:
State Agriculture Departments
Agriculture Universities and research institutions
¢ ATMA networks
¢ District administration and Zilla Parishads
2)



Identify opportunities within government schemes and programs for drone deployment
3) Work with government agencies to implement large-scale drone adoption initiatives
D. CSR Partnerships & Development Sector Engagement
1) Identify and build partnerships with CSR foundations and corporate CSR programs
2) Develop and present proposals for CSR-funded drone deployment initiatives
3) Collaborate with companies interested in technology-led rural development
4) Structure CSR-backed drone training and deployment programs
E. Grants, Bilateral & Multilateral Funding
1) Identify funding opportunities from:

- Bilateral development agencies
- Multilateral organizations
- International development institutions

2) Examples include:

- Development finance institutions
- International agriculture and climate programs
- Rural innovation funds

3) Develop proposals to secure grants and development funding for drone programs
4) Build partnerships with NGOs and development organizations working in agriculture
F. Proposal Development & Institutional Business
1) Lead preparation of high-quality proposals for government, CSR, and institutional projects
2) Develop project proposals for:

- Drone deployment programs
- Drone-based crop protection initiatives
- Drone-based rural entrepreneurship programs
- Present Salam Kisans drone solutions to public sector and private sector organizations

G. Revenue Growth & Market Expansion
1) Drive adoption of agri-drone technology across Maharashtra
2) Identify new market opportunities within:

- Custom Hiring Centres (CHCs)
- FPO networks
- Agri entrepreneurs
- Input dealers and farm machinery networks

3) Scale new revenue streams including:

- Drone sales
- Drone spraying services
- Drone pilot training programs

H. Strategic Program Leadership
1) Lead statewide implementation of initiatives such as:

- Mahashakti Drone Tai Program
- Institution-led drone deployment initiatives
- Large-scale drone spraying operations

2) Generate bulk drone deployment projects through institutional partnerships
I. Sales Leadership & Organizational Development
1) Lead and manage Regional Sales Managers
2) Oversee performance of:

- District Sales Managers
- Taluka Sales Executives
- Drone Tai networks

3) Build a high-performance sales culture with strong accountability
4) Drive capability development through training, coaching, and leadership development
J. Market Intelligence & Strategic Insights
1) Monitor trends in:





- Drone technology
- Farm mechanization
- Agri-tech innovation

2) Track competitor strategies and market developments
3) Provide insights for current product positioning and business strategy
K. Reporting & Performance Monitoring
1) Track and monitor:
¢ Sales pipeline
¢ Institutional project pipeline
¢ Government subsidy opportunities
¢ Revenue forecasts
2) Conduct monthly performance reviews with regional teams
3) Provide strategic updates to leadership on market opportunities and growth strategy

3. Education Qualification
Preferred Qualifications:
¢ MBA (Agri Business / Rural Management / Marketing)
¢ B.Sc. Agriculture
¢ Bachelors degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Rural Development, or related fields
4. Experience
1) 1015 years of experience in agriculture, farm mechanization, or agri-tech sales
2) Experience in:

- Drone technology
- Farm machinery
- Agricultural equipment
- Agri-tech solutions

preferred
3) Proven experience managing large regional or state-level sales teams
4) Experience working with government programs, CSR initiatives, and institutional buyers
5) Proficiency in Marathi is preferred
4. Key Deliverables
The State Sales Head will be responsible for:
