Job Summary
The Solar Technician is responsible for ensuring accurate material verification, proper installation as per approved designs, coordination with DISCOM processes, and effective on-site execution. The role also involves regular site visits and maintaining clear communication with customers to ensure smooth project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
1. Material Verification & Quality Check
· Verify all materials received at site against the approved Bill of Materials (BOM) and billing documents.
· Ensure quantity, specifications, and quality of materials are as per project requirements.
· Report discrepancies or shortages immediately to the concerned team.
2. Structure & Installation Compliance
· Ensure mounting structures and installations are executed strictly as per approved design drawings.
· Check alignment, tilt angle, spacing, and structural integrity at site.
· Coordinate with installation teams to maintain quality standards.
3. DISCOM Coordination & Documentation
· Assist in DISCOM-related activities including application filing, documentation, and follow-ups.
· Ensure all required documents are properly submitted and maintained.
· Support in net metering and approval processes.
4. Site Visits & Monitoring
· Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress and quality of work.
· Identify and resolve on-site issues related to installation or materials.
· Maintain proper site records and reporting.
5. Customer Interaction
· Act as a point of contact for customers at site.
· Provide updates on project progress and address basic queries.
· Ensure customer satisfaction through professional communication and support.
Required Skills & Qualifications
· Diploma/ITI in Electrical or related field.
· Basic understanding of solar PV systems and installation practices.
· Knowledge of drawings, layouts, and BOQ/BOM verification.
· Good communication and coordination skills.
· Willingness to travel for site visits.
Preferred Experience
· 1–3 years of experience in solar installation or electrical field work.
· Experience in handling DISCOM processes and net metering documentation is an added advantage.
