Job Summary

USA Tax Gurus LLC is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented US Tax Associate to join our growing remote team. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in US tax preparation with exposure to both individual and business tax returns. Experience with expat and international tax filings is highly preferred.

In this role, you will work closely with senior associates and managers to support tax preparation, bookkeeping, tax research, client onboarding, and financial reporting engagements across a wide range of US and international clients.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Compliance

- Assist in preparing US tax returns for individuals and businesses, including Forms 1040, 1040NR, 1120, 1120S, 1065, 5471, 5472 and related international filings
- Support expat and international tax engagements under senior supervision
- Conduct tax research and assist with resolving client tax questions
- Stay updated on current US tax laws, filing requirements, and compliance changes

Tax Planning & Advisory Support

- Assist senior team members with tax planning projects and advisory engagements
- Help identify tax-saving opportunities and compliance considerations
- Support analysis of deductions, credits, and entity structures

Bookkeeping & Financial Reporting

- Assist with bookkeeping and transaction categorization
- Support preparation and review of financial statements and reports
- Help identify bookkeeping discrepancies and cleanup opportunities

Client Communication & Onboarding

- Assist with onboarding new clients, gathering documents, and organizing workflows




- Participate in client calls and follow-up communication as needed
- Build professional relationships with clients through responsive communication and support
- Availability during US morning hours (India evening hours, occasionally up to 12 AM IST) for meetings and collaboration

Process improvement & Team Collaboration

- Support implementation of workflows, SOPs, and internal quality control processes
- Collaborate with senior associates and managers on active engagements
- Participate in internal training sessions and technical learning initiatives
- Assist with reviewing junior-level work as responsibilities grow

Qualifications

- Minimum 2+ years of experience in US tax preparation
- Exposure to Forms 1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065, and related filings
- Experience with expat or international tax filings is highly preferred
- (Forms 1040NR, 5471, 5472, 2555, 1116, 8621, 8938, FBAR, etc.)
- CPA or EA license preferred but not mandatory
- Experience with bookkeeping and financial reporting
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow within a fast-paced team
