Position Title: Strategy & Investments Analyst Department: Strategy Reports To: Chief Strategy Officer Location: Kochi, Kerala, India (with regular travel across Kerala) POSITION PURPOSE The Strategy & Investments Analyst (Kochi) is a central role in VPS Lakeshore Medical Centre’s growth agenda. A core mandate of the role is to help expand the Lakeshore footprint across Kerala — identifying the right cities, micro-markets, and sites for recent outposts, diagnostic centres, specialty clinics, and satellite units, and building rigorous evaluation cases for each. Alongside the expansion mandate, the analyst will support the Chief Strategy Officer on the hospital’s AOP, transformation charter, capex governance, and overall corporate strategy. The incumbent will work closely with the CSO, hospital leadership, clinical chiefs, and finance, and will spend significant time on the ground — inside the Kochi hospital and travelling across Kerala for site visits, catchment assessments, and stakeholder engagement. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Lead the analytical work to expand VPS Lakeshore’s footprint across Kerala — building and maintaining a structured pipeline of potential outposts, satellite clinics, diagnostic centres, and partnership sites. • Develop a Kerala-wide market map: city / district prioritisation, micro-market attractiveness, payer mix, competitor presence, referral patterns, and white spaces for VPS Lakeshore. • Run end-to-end site identification and evaluation — shortlisting locations,



conducting site visits across Kerala, assessing catchment population, demand drivers, accessibility, infrastructure readiness, and competitive intensity. • Build feasibility cases and financial models for each new site — capex, ramp-up curves, P&L; projections, sensitivity analysis, payback, and risk assessment. • Support negotiations and structuring for land / lease / partnership arrangements in coordination with legal, finance, and external advisors. • Track performance of existing outposts and units against business plan; surface early warning signals and recommend corrective actions. • Support the Chief Strategy Officer in designing, refreshing, and tracking the hospital’s medium-term strategy, AOP, and transformation charter. • Build business cases for new service lines, OT/ICU/bed expansion, capex projects, and medical equipment investments at the Kochi hospital. • Evaluate partnership opportunities with corporates, insurers, government schemes (CGHS, ECHS, Ayushman Bharat, Karunya), and medical tourism channels relevant to Kerala. • Partner with hospital leadership, clinical chiefs, and finance to translate strategic priorities into measurable initiatives with clear owners, KPIs, and timelines. • Track performance against AOP and the transformation initiative register; prepare monthly and quarterly progress reviews for leadership and the board. • Coordinate with the Delhi-based Strategy & Investments Analyst on group-level strategic projects, investor materials, and inorganic opportunities. • Prepare crisp, board-quality presentations, discussion notes, and analyses for the Chief Strategy Officer and the senior leadership team. • Support special projects across digital, AI, quality, and patient experience as directed by the Chief Strategy Officer.



QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Public Health, or a related field from a premier institution. MBA from a top-tier institute strongly preferred. • 3–7 years of experience in management consulting (healthcare practice), hospital strategy, healthcare investment / advisory, or in-house corporate strategy roles — ideally with exposure to site / market expansion work. • Strong financial modelling, business case development, and quantitative analysis skills. • High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and business intelligence tools (Power BI / Tableau preferred). • Proven ability to synthesise complex data into clear, actionable executive recommendations. • Solid understanding of the Indian healthcare ecosystem — private hospital operations, payer mix, government schemes, and medical tourism. • Working proficiency in English AND Malayalam is mandatory — both written and spoken — given the extent of travel across Kerala, site visits, and engagement with local stakeholders, partners, and clinicians. • Willingness to be based in Kochi, to travel extensively across Kerala for site visits and market assessments, and to spend significant time inside the hospital working alongside clinical and operational teams. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Direct experience with hospital site identification, greenfield / brownfield feasibility studies, or healthcare expansion programmes. • Deep familiarity with Kerala’s geography, district-level healthcare market, payer landscape (CGHS, ECHS, Karunya, private insurance), and medical tourism dynamics. • Prior experience supporting hospital AOP / business planning, capex governance, or transformation programme management. • Exposure to NABH / JCI quality frameworks and their commercial implications. • Background in consulting firms with healthcare practices, or in-house strategy at a leading hospital chain. • Comfort engaging clinicians, operational leaders, local government, and community stakeholders; ability to translate clinical, operational, and on-the-ground nuance into strategy and numbers.
