Job Title: Cost Management Accountant (CMA)

Job Location: Chandigarh University, Gharuan, Mohali.

Role Purpose:

The Cost Management Accountant (CMA) will be responsible for managing cost analysis, budgeting, financial planning, expense control, and profitability analysis for the organization. The role focuses on improving financial efficiency, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring compliance with accounting and taxation standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and maintain cost sheets, budgets, and financial reports.

Analyze operational costs and recommend cost-saving strategies.

Monitor departmental expenses and ensure budget compliance.

Conduct variance analysis between actual and planned costs.

Assist management in financial planning and forecasting.

Prepare MIS reports and management dashboards.

Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, and other financial regulations.

Support internal and external audit activities.





Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation.

Required Qualifications:

CMA (Certified Management Accountant) qualification is mandatory.

Additional certifications in Finance or Accounting will be an advantage.

Experience:

2–8 years of relevant experience in cost accounting, finance, budgeting, or MIS reporting.

Experience in the education sector/university environment will be preferred.

Required Skills:

Strong knowledge of Cost Accounting and Financial Management.

Positive understanding of GST, TDS, budgeting, and taxation.

Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent reporting and presentation skills.

Good communication and coordination skills.

Ability to work with large financial data sets.

Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
