The Category Head – Ad Sales will be responsible for driving advertising revenue for assigned categories (such as Education, Real Estate, Retail, Auto, FMCG, etc.) in the Jaipur market. The role involves developing category-specific strategies, building robust client relationships, and leading revenue growth initiatives. The candidate should have a deep understanding of the Jaipur market and category dynamics.
Key Responsibilities:
Category Revenue Ownership:
- Own and achieve revenue targets for assigned categories in Jaipur.
- Identify growth opportunities within the local market and increase category share.
- Monitor category performance and optimize sales strategies accordingly.
Strategic Planning & Market Insights:
- Develop Jaipur-specific category strategies based on market trends.
- Analyze competition, pricing trends, and client behavior in the region.
- Leverage local insights to drive impactful sales planning.
Client Acquisition & Key Account Management:
- Build strong relationships with top clients and agencies in Jaipur.
- Drive new client acquisition within assigned categories.
- Manage and grow high-value and strategic accounts.
Team Leadership & Capability Building:
- Guide and support unit sales teams for category-focused selling.
- Train teams on category knowledge,
pitch strategies, and market approach.
- Track performance and ensure achievement of category targets.
Solution-Based Selling:
- Create customized advertising solutions aligned with client goals.
- Drive participation in special initiatives (festive editions, local campaigns, thematic ads).
- Collaborate with marketing for innovative campaign ideas.
Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Work closely with editorial, marketing, operations, and billing teams.
- Ensure smooth execution of campaigns and timely delivery.
Collections & Compliance:
- Ensure timely collections and maintain healthy receivables.
- Adhere to company credit policies and reduce financial risks.
Key Requirements:
- 8–15 years of experience in Ad Sales / Media Sales / Category Sales.
- Solid understanding of Jaipur market and local business ecosystem.
- Proven track record in revenue generation and category handling.
- Strong network with clients and advertising agencies in Jaipur.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
Preferred Background:
- Experience in print/media industry preferred.
- MBA/PGDM in Sales/Marketing preferred.
