Quality Control (QC) Manager

Position Type: Full-time (ONLY for Candidates with experience in wood and metal furniture manufacturing for last 5-7 years, and/or at least 4-5 years in automobile industry before that)

Role Overview

The QC Manager at Knock on Wood will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality, aesthetics, and durability. You will play a crucial role in setting up quality frameworks, managing QC teams, identifying defects, and implementing process improvements to reduce rework and wastage.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and enforce quality assurance systems and checklists for all stages – raw material, in-process, and finished goods
- Conduct daily inspections across workstations to ensure adherence to design and finish specifications
- Oversee and manage the QC team – assign roles, monitor performance, and guide inspections
- Generate daily and weekly quality reports for management review
- Analyze recurring defects and coordinate with production, design, and procurement teams for root cause and resolution
- Ensure quality consistency in furniture finishing, joinery, packaging, and structural stability
- Lead incoming material inspection – solid wood, hardware, adhesives, finishes, etc.
- Define and implement corrective actions and preventive measures
- Conduct training sessions for carpenters, polishers,



and assembly teams on quality expectations and SOPs
- Coordinate with the design team for pre-dispatch approvals and feedback incorporation
- Maintain QC documentation and audit readiness for clients and internal compliance

Key Skills & Competencies

- Strong knowledge of wood materials, joinery methods, and finishing standards
- Eye for detail in dimensions, alignment, edges, polish quality, and aesthetics
- Ability to interpret CAD drawings and technical BOMs
- Hands-on with quality tools and measurement equipment
- Team leadership, communication, and interdepartmental coordination
- Working knowledge of Excel, Google Sheets, and quality MIS

Qualifications

- Degree/Diploma in Furniture Design, Interior Design, Mechanical Engineering, or Wood Technology
- Certification in Quality Management (Six Sigma, ISO, etc.) is a plus
