Job Description
Primary Task: To oversee and carry out a range of human resources tasks, such as hiring, employee relations, performance, HR policy, and employee engagement, in order to foster a supportive and effective work environment at our Chennai-based company.
Responsibilities
Utilise local talent pools and recruitment channels that are common in Chennai and Tamil Nadu to oversee the entire hiring process for positions based in Chennai, from finding and vetting applicants to holding interviews and making offers.
Encourage an ethical, welcoming, and upbeat work environment in our Chennai office and amenities while taking into consideration regional values and customs.
Provide clarifications and guidance as necessary, taking into account local interpretations of workplace regulations, to ensure that all employees in Chennai understand and consistently comply to HR policies.
Respond to employee enquiries about payroll, benefits,
and Chennai-specific mandatory deductions by promptly and clearly providing information.
Required Abilities:
strong familiarity with HR best practices pertinent to Chennai and Indian labour laws, especially those unique to Tamil Nadu.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills in Tamil and English are necessary to engage with our diverse workforce in Chennai in a way that shows cultural sensitivity and understanding.
Excellent conflict-resolution and problem-solving abilities, along with knowledge of Chennai's local cultural quirks and methods for handling work-related concerns.
