Job Summary :- We are seeking a talented and innovative Design Engineer to join our team, specializing in the design and development of Special Purpose Machines and automation solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the full design lifecycle, from conceptualization to commissioning, and a robust understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems integration.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Development: Design and develop SPMs, jigs, fixtures, and automation equipment based on customer or in-house requirements.

CAD Modeling: Create conceptual layouts, 3D models, and detailed 2D manufacturing/assembly drawings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo).

Technical Analysis: Conduct feasibility studies, design calculations (e.g., stress, load, tolerance analysis), and risk assessments to ensure performance, durability, and safety.

Component Selection: Select appropriate mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical components (e.g., motors, sensors, actuators, gearboxes) to achieve desired functionality.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical, software, procurement, and manufacturing teams, to integrate systems and resolve issues during production and assembly.

Documentation: Prepare and manage detailed Bill of Materials (BOMs), technical documentation, operating manuals, and design revision records.

Testing & Commissioning:



Participate in machine assembly, testing, pre-dispatch inspection, and commissioning activities at the workshop and client sites.

Client Interaction: Communicate with customers for design requirement collection, design reviews, and final approvals.

Required Qualifications & Skills Education:

Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.

Experience:

Proven experience (e.g., 2-7 years) in designing special purpose machinery, automation equipment, or machine tools.

Hands-on experience in product development and exposure to automation projects.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in 3D and 2D CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or equivalent).

Robust knowledge of mechanical design principles, machine elements, kinematics, and structural mechanics.

Understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, welding, sheet metal) and materials selection.

Familiarity with industrial standards, safety regulations, and Geometrical Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T;).

Basic knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, actuators, sensors, and motion control systems.

Soft Skills:

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Strong communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

Attention to detail and a focus on quality and precision.
