Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, result-oriented Raw Material Purchase Manager with 3 to 5 years of hands-on procurement experience to join our team based out of Sonipat / Bikaner. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sourcing pulses, staples, and agri-commodities, though expertise in other food raw materials will also be highly entertained.

This is a field-heavy, high-impact role. You will be responsible for traveling across major agricultural hubs in India to secure high-quality ingredients directly from mandis, millers, and farmers at competitive prices, ensuring our production lines never skip a beat.

Key Responsibilities

Pan-India Sourcing & Travel: Travel extensively across different states and agricultural hubs to source raw materials directly from the source (mandis, farmers, and primary processors).

Strategic Procurement: Manage end-to-end procurement of food raw materials, with a primary focus on pulses, grains, staples, and allied agri-commodities.

Vendor & Mandi Networking: Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers, millers, and traders. Build a robust network to ensure supply consistency.

Sharp Negotiation: Negotiate commercial terms, spot-pricing, payment structures, and logistics directly on the ground to maximize cost savings.

Quality Buying: Conduct on-site quality checks and collaborate with the Quality Control (QC)



team to ensure all purchased materials strictly adhere to defined standards.

Market Intelligence: Track crop cycles, weather patterns, seasonal price fluctuations, and market arrivals to make proactive, data-driven buying decisions.

Inventory Control: Coordinate with the Sonipat/Bikaner plant teams to align procurement schedules with production requirements, preventing both stock-outs and overstocking.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education & Experience

Experience: 3–5 years of proven experience in raw material procurement within the Food, FMCG, or Agri-commodity sector.

Education: Graduate in Agriculture, Food Technology, Supply Chain, or Business Administration. (An MBA in Agri-Business Management is a major plus).

Core Competencies

Commodity Knowledge: Strong understanding of pulses and staples grading, quality parameters, and seasonal procurement cycles.

Negotiation & Ground Hustle: Exceptional negotiation skills with the ability to deal effectively with both corporate vendors and local mandi traders.

Travel Flexibility: Must be willing and ready to travel extensively pan-India on short notice.

Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using MS Excel and ERP systems (like SAP or Oracle) for procurement tracking and data analysis.

Language Skills: Fluency in Hindi is essential; knowledge of regional languages is an added advantage for field travel.
