Role Description

This is a full-time in office role for a Paravet located in Chennai. The Paravet will be responsible for assisting veterinarians in providing medical care for street animals.

Key responsibilities include administering first aid, managing wounds and infections, performing vaccination and deworming procedures, and assisting with IV setups and parasite management in a clean and safe environment. The role also involves coordinating with local volunteers, residents, and feeders to ensure the welfare of animals in distress.

Qualifications

- Proficiency in basic veterinary care, including first aid administration, infection management, wound care, and vaccinations.
- Comfort with handling animals compassionately and ensuring their safety and dignity during care.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with veterinarians, local residents, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work in on-site settings under challenging conditions with a problem-solving mindset.
- Experience with case management, understanding of standard operating procedures, and a commitment to maintaining treatment transparency.
- Prior experience in animal handling or veterinary assistance is preferred but not mandatory.




- A diploma or certification in veterinary care or related fields will be an advantage.
