Overview

We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and highly qualified Science Teacher to plan, deliver, and assess engaging Biology lessons at the IGCSE.

Responsibilities

Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver high-quality, comprehensive lessons in both Biology tailored to IGCSE and AS Level students.

Lesson Planning: Prepare structured schemes of work, detailed lesson plans, and interactive teaching materials in strict accordance with Cambridge curriculum requirements.

Assessment & Tracking: Monitor, assess, and record students’ academic progress using assignments, laboratory practicals, mock exams, and internal assessments.

Feedback & Communication: Provide regular, constructive feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance, growth areas, and examination readiness.

Classroom Management: Create a positive, safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages active participation and critical thinking.

Exam Preparation: Robustly prepare students for internal evaluations, mock series, and official Cambridge external examinations.

Laboratory Safety: Ensure strict adherence to laboratory safety protocols and oversee the correct usage of science equipment and chemical resources during practical sessions.

Departmental Collaboration:



Contribute actively to the Science Department through collaborative planning, curriculum development, and the sharing of pedagogical best practices.

School Engagement: Participate enthusiastically in school events, co-curricular activities, parent-teacher meetings, and professional development programs.

Skills Description

Mandatory:

Bachelor’s Degree in Biology or a closely related Science field.

Solid subject knowledge in both Biology.

Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience, preferably in Cambridge IGCSE / AS & A Level curriculum.

Experience in conducting laboratory-based practical sessions.

Excellent communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.

Preferred / Advantageous:

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), Diploma in Education, or equivalent teaching qualification.

Familiarity with Cambridge Assessment standards and exam preparation.

Experience teaching in an international school environment.
