Shopify Developer

Location: Kochi, Kerala | Type: Full-Time | Experience: 4–7 years

About Kochi Kochu : Kochi Kochu is a premium fashion and lifestyle brand focused on creating distinctive products and exceptional customer experiences. As we scale our ecommerce operations, we are seeking an experienced Shopify skilled who can lead the planning, design, implementation, optimization, and long-term evolution of our Shopify ecosystem.

This is not a traditional Shopify developer role. We are looking for an individual who understands the intersection of fashion, design, customer experience, ecommerce operations, analytics, integrations, conversion optimization, and Shopify architecture.

The successful candidate should be capable of designing and implementing a complete ecommerce ecosystem rather than simply building a website.

The Role

We're hiring a Shopify Developer who combines strong technical implementation skills with genuine design sensibility. You'll own the end-to-end build of our Shopify store, from architecture and theme development to integrations, analytics, and launch.

This is a hands-on role. You will be the primary person building, configuring, and optimising the store. You won't just install apps and fill in settings, you'll make considered decisions about how the store is structured, how customers move through it, and how it represents the brand.

- What You'll Own

Store Architecture & Theme Development

- Evaluate, select, and customise a Shopify theme appropriate for premium fashion
- Build custom sections, templates, and Liquid components as required
- Set up collection structure, navigation, and product catalogue architecture
- Implement variant and SKU strategy aligned to our product range
- Ensure Shopify Markets and multi-currency readiness from day one





Design & Brand Experience

- Translate the Kochi Kochu brand identity into a premium, editorial ecommerce experience
- Design and implement collection pages, product pages, lookbooks, and landing pages
- Apply mobile-first design systems with strong visual hierarchy and typography
- Maintain high-end product presentation standards across all pages

Customer Experience & Conversion

- Map and optimise the end-to-end customer journey
- Implement search, filter, wishlist, and account features
- Set up OTP login and Google Sign-In
- Optimise cart, checkout, upsell flows, and abandoned cart recovery
- Implement customer retention mechanisms and post-purchase flows

Integrations & Tech Stack

- Integrate payment gateways, shipping platforms, and logistics providers
- Set up WhatsApp, email marketing, and customer support integrations
- Evaluate and govern third-party Shopify apps
- Plan for ERP, CRM, and accounting system integration (Zoho, Tally)

Analytics & Marketing Technology

- Implement GA4, Google Search Console, and Google Merchant Center
- Set up Meta Pixel, Meta Conversions API, Facebook Shop, and Instagram Shop
- Configure ecommerce event tracking, funnel tracking, and attribution
- Build or recommend dashboards for business reporting

SEO & Performance

- Implement technical SEO: metadata, structured data, sitemaps, redirects
- Optimise site speed, Core Web Vitals, and mobile performance




- Ensure browser and device compatibility across key segments

Skills Required

Shopify

- Shopify Admin, Liquid, Shopify APIs
- Theme customisation and custom theme development
- Shopify Flow, Shopify Markets, Shopify Apps ecosystem

Technical

- HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- API integrations
- Analytics implementation (GA4, Meta Pixel, Conversions API)

Ecommerce Understanding

- D2C ecommerce operations and customer journey design
- Fashion or apparel ecommerce (strong preference)
- Inventory, fulfilment, and returns workflows
- Conversion optimisation and retention strategy

Preferred Background

- Experience with premium fashion, apparel, or lifestyle brands
- Shopify migrations from other platforms
- Multi-currency or multi-country store setup
- ERP-connected ecommerce platforms
- High-growth Indian D2C brands

Portfolio Requirements

- Shopify stores you have built or significantly developed (with live links)
- Fashion or lifestyle ecommerce projects (mandatory)
- Integration work: logistics, payments, marketing tools
- Analytics or tracking setups you have implemented
- Any conversion optimisation or CRO work
